    摘要: An ion exchange membrane electrolytic cell comprises an anode, a cathode, an anode compartment and a cathode compartment partitioned by an ion exchange membrane. A gas and liquid permeable porous non-electrode layer composed of non-oxide ceramics particles is bonded to at least one side of the ion exchange membrane. With use of such a membrane, the cell voltage can considerably reduced in the electrolysis of water, an alkali metal halide, an alkali metal carbonate, etc.

    摘要: A plate of a semiconductor having a narrow energy gap such as InSb, is applied with a magnetic field in parallel therewith and further supplied with a current in parallel therewith also as well as across the magnetic field, whereby an infrared radiation can be emitted perpendicular thereto in a wide range of temperature from room temperature to liquid nitrogen temperature.Consequently, an infrared emitting device, for instance, an infrared laser diode can be fabricated and operated at room temperature without necessity of a dewar filled with refrigerating material such as liquid nitrogen. Various kinds of compact infrared-emitting equipments such as an infrared radar can be realized by modulating the current supplied to the above infrared emitting device.

    摘要: A porous cathode for electrolysis of an alkali metal chloride comprises a substrate and a coating comprising, a catalyst, a water repellent material and a pore forming agent. The water repellent material is a combination of a first fluorinated resin having a particle diameter of 0.1 to 20.mu. and a melting point of 300.degree. to 340.degree. C. and a second fluorinated resin having a particle diameter of 1 to 50.mu. and a melting point of 160.degree. to 320.degree. C. and said first resin has higher melting point than that of said second resin.

    摘要: An ophthalmic treatment method for inhibiting death of retinal constitutive cells of an eye by stimulating the cells includes a first step of placing a positive electrode and a negative electrode in such positions outside the eye that the electrodes provide electrical stimulation to the cells, at least one of the electrodes being placed on one of a cornea and sclera of the eye; and a second step of generating an electrical stimulation pulse having an electric current set at 20 μA or more but not exceeding 300 μA from each placed electrode.
