    Abstract: When a portion of a structure enclosing a local coil is inserted in a homogeneity region of a basic magnetic field of a magnetic resonance system, the local coil is operable to receive magnetic resonance signals originating from a specific detection zone for the local coil arrangement. At least one conductor is arranged in the structure. Field lines of a compensation magnetic field generated by current encircling the conductor form a compensation magnetic field angle with the basic magnetic field in an edge area of the detection zone. Return conductors complete an electric circuit containing the conductor and extend in the direction of the basic magnetic field and/or are arranged such that field lines of an interfering magnetic field counteracting the compensation magnetic field encircle the respective return conductor and form an interfering magnetic field angle with the basic magnetic field in the edge area.

    Abstract: A shim coil device for installation and/or arrangement within a local coil of a magnetic resonance device is provided. The shim coil device includes at least one shim coil formed by at least one conductor loop, and at least one compensation coil formed by at least one conductor loop. The at least one shim coil and the at least one compensation coil are arranged in a same coil plane. An overall arrangement of the at least one shim coil and the at least one compensation coil is symmetrical about a first central axis and a second central axis. The first central axis and the second central axis are perpendicular to each other and lie in the coil plane. An overall induction surface is enclosed by the at least one conductor loop of the at least one compensation coil corresponding to an overall induction surface enclosed by the at least one conductor loop of the at least one shim coil.

    Abstract: An apparatus and a method for generating an image from N reception signal data sets of signals received by a plurality of coils of a magnetic resonance tomography appliance from a region of a body to be examined using an image processing computer are provided. The apparatus includes a degree-of-compression determining device. A ratio N/M of the number N of N reception signal data sets generated from the signals received by the plurality of coils to a smaller number M of mode data sets is defined taking account of a plurality of parameters. The plurality of parameters at least also represent system resources of the image processing computer.
