Abstract:
A process for producing water-absorbing polymer particles by polymerizing droplets of a monomer solution in a surrounding gas phase, wherein the polymer particles are coated with a permeability improver.
Abstract:
A process for postcrosslinking a water-absorbing polymer comprises said polymer being treated with a postcrosslinker and, during or after said treating, being postcrosslinked and dried by temperature elevation, said postcrosslinker being a compound of the formula I where R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8 and R9 are each independently hydrogen, C1-C12-alkyl, C2-C12-alkenyl or C6-C12-aryl, wherein C1-C12-alkyl, C2-C12-alkenyl or C6-C12-aryl may be halogen substituted. The liquid-absorbing polymers are useful in hygiene articles and packaging materials.
Abstract:
An allyl type crosslinking agent for use in production of a super water-absorbent polymer comprising a polymerizable compound having a carbon-carbon double bond or a salt thereof. The crosslinking agent comprises a linear hydroxypolyallyl ether having at least one hydroxyl group and at least two allyl groups obtained by allyletherification of hydroxyl groups in a linear polyol compound selected from the group consisting of erythritol, xylitol and sorbitol. This allyl type crosslinking agent is highly soluble in an aqueous solvent, and can give an excellent super water-absorbent polymer, which cannot be obtained in the prior arts, having high levels of both of water absorptivity under atmospheric pressure and water absorptivity under pressurized conditions.
Abstract:
Water-absorbing polymeric particles are produced by polymerizing a monomer solution or suspension comprising at least one unsaturated carboxylic acid and at least one hydroquinone monoether, and coating the polymeric particles with at least one salt of a tervalent metal cation of a carboxylic acid and/or at least one basic salt of a tervalent metal cation.
Abstract:
A system that determines product quantities for a process manufacturing formula that generates a first product and a second product receives a quantity of a first ingredient and a quantity of a second ingredient. The first and second ingredients contribute to a formula yield. The system further receives a quantity of a byproduct of the formula and a percentage of the formula for the output first product and a percentage of the formula for the output second product. The system then automatically determines a first product quantity based on the quantity of the first ingredient, the quantity of the second ingredient, the quantity of the byproduct of the formula, and the percentage of the formula for the first product.
