Abstract:
An aqueous acidic polymerization liquid comprising polymerizable monomers or oligomers with carboxylate and/or carboxylic acid moiety or moieties, and edge modified clay that is homogenously dispersable in said liquid is provided, and also methods for making such liquids, and also edge-modified-clay linked water-absorbing polymers made by with said liquids and methods, and disposable absorbent articles comprising such edge-modified-clay linked water-absorbing polycarboxylate/polycarboxylic acid polymers.
Abstract:
A method for producing biodisintegratable composite foils with an aqueous polyurethane dispersion adhesive. The method involves adhesive-bonding a first substrate to a second substrate with use of the aqueous polyurethane dispersion adhesive. At least one of the first substrate and the second substrate is made of a biodisintegratable polymer foil, and at least 60% by weight of the polyurethane contains diisocyanates, polyesterdiols, and bifunctional carboxylic acids. The bifunctional carboxylic acids are dihydroxycarboxylic acids or diaminocarboxylic acids.
Abstract:
Articles, such as absorbent articles, are described, comprising a coating or film, for example applied to superabsorbent polymer particles, the coating or film containing a polyurethane polymer material, containing polyurethane polymers with covalently bonded modified silica-containing material.
Abstract:
An electronic data processing system comprises a first application program that is capable of operating in a first mode and a second mode. The first mode comprises software emulation of a vehicle data bus and one or more network elements. The second mode comprises communications access to the vehicle bus and the one or more network elements. The electronic data processing system is capable of executing an operating system. A virtual bus server application comprises a shared memory and a message router. The operating system facilitates communication between at least two dynamic link libraries in shared memory. The message router is capable of routing data messages between the first application and a first hardware module as a network element in the second mode. A first dynamic link library interface provides an interface between the first application program and the virtual bus server application. The first dynamic link library is capable of communicating with the shared memory of the virtual bus server application. A second dynamic link library interface provides an interface between the virtual bus server application and the first hardware module. The second dynamic link library is capable of communicating with the shared memory of the virtual bus server application.
Abstract:
Absorbent structures comprising vacuum-treated (optionally coated) post-crosslinked water-absorbing polymeric particles, obtainable by vacuum-treating and optionally plasma-treating post-crosslinked water-absorbent polymeric particles (that may optionally be coated), the resulting vacuum-treated post-crosslinked water-absorbing polymeric particles having an improved absorption, whilst having good gel bed permeability.
Abstract:
This invention is directed to a process for making solid, typically particulate, water-swellable material comprising coated water-swellable, preferably hydrogel-forming polymers, which are coated with a coating agent, which is such that it does not rupture when the polymers swell in a liquid, e.g., water or saline water. Hereto, the coating agent is extensible in wet state and comprises thereto a wet-extensible material that has a tensile stress at break in the wet state of at least 1 MPa. Typically, the coating agent comprises thereto an elastomeric polymeric material. The invention also relates to solid (particulate) water-swellable material obtainable by the process of the invention.
Abstract:
A method and a device for simplifying the forming of game parties in wireless communication networks is provided. A game directory is generated comprising all available (multi-player) games on a mobile device and exchanging said information between different gaming devices. Said game directory is generated by querying a memory accessible by said electronic gaming device for electronic games available for execution on, and generating a game directory having entries for each electronic game which is determined. Said game directory is then exchanged to visualize all available games to all potential game partners.
Abstract:
The subject invention relates to isolated proteins, particularly monoclonal antibodies, which bind to the Nogo-66 receptor. Specifically, these antibodies have the ability to inhibit the binding of the natural ligand of the Nogo-66 receptor and neutralize the Nogo-66 receptor. These antibodies or portions thereof of the invention are useful for detecting NgR and for inhibiting NgR activity, for example in a human suffering from a disorder in which NgR or Nogo-66 activity is detrimental.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the identification and use of bone morphogenetic protein (BMP)-binding domains of members of the repulsive guidance molecule (RGM) protein family, and polypeptide fragments and fusion proteins derived therefrom. The domains, i.e., peptide fragments and fusion proteins, according to the invention are suitable as agents for the active or passive immunization of individuals, or as diagnostic and therapeutic agents for use for diseases or medical conditions in whose origin or progression a member of the RGM family and a cellular receptor associated with this molecule, such as neogenin and/or BMP in particular, is involved. The invention further relates to monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies directed against the binding domains according to the invention, and against the polypeptides derived therefrom, and to methods for producing the polypeptides, fusion proteins, and antibodies according to the invention.
Abstract:
An absorbent layer containing water-absorbing polymeric particles that are surface-treated and that are immobilized by a matrix, formed from a thermoplastic adhesive component, including a thermoplastic polymers and a specific plasticizer, and being free of low weight average molecular weight (e.g. below 1000, or below 2000 or even below 3000 g/mole) tackifiers and plasticizers. The absorbent articles may for example be adult incontinence articles, infant (e.g. baby, toddler) diapers, including training pants, and feminine hygiene articles, such as sanitary napkins.
