摘要:
Provided is a device which can form favorable perforated images corresponding to the resolution of the thermal head, reproduce faithful printed images for all kinds of original picture images, avoid ink transfer, and adapt itself to different environmental conditions, and is suitable for use with different thermal recording materials such as thermal recording paper, OHP TP sheets, and thermal stencil master plates. In the device of the present invention, a thermal head 4 consisting of a plurality of heat emitting elements 5 arranged in a single row in the primary scanning direction is directly contacted to the recording surface of a thermal recording material such as thermal recording paper, and the thermal recording material 1 is moved relative to the thermal head 4 in the secondary scanning direction which is perpendicular to the direction of the row of the heat emitting elements so that picture images may be formed with a dot matrix by selectively heating the thermal heat emitting elements at an appropriate timing in relation to the movement of the thermal recording material in the secondary scanning direction, the ratios of the length of each heat emitting element 5 in the primary and secondary scanning directions to the pitches of the primary and secondary scanning are set 30 to 70% and 60 to 95%, respectively.

To provide a stencil printing device of a multi printing drum type which can be reduced in size without complicating the path of conveying printing paper and without compromising the ease of maintenance, a plurality of printing drums are arranged along an inclined line of a prescribed angle of inclination, and the path of conveying printing paper between each pair of adjacent printing drums is defined, for instance, as a straight line. A plate making unit, a plate ejection unit and a paper feeding unit are arranged in the space defined above and below the inclined line along which the printing drums are arranged so that a compact design may be accomplished.

In a squeegee device for supplying ink in a stencil printing device from the interior of a cylindrical, ink permeable printing drum which rotates around an axial line thereof with a stencil master plate wrapped around the outer circumferential surface thereof, to prevent a squeegee blade from developing a juddering movement relative to the cylindrical printing drum, and to allow the squeegee blade to sufficiently intimately contact the inner circumferential surface of the printing drum so that printing ink may be supplied to the printing drum by a prescribed amount in a stable fashion at all times, a thin spring plate is placed on a reverse surface of the squeegee blade made of a rubber-like elastic material which is in engagement with the inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical printing drum. The spring property of the thin spring plate appropriately controls the elastic deformation of the squeegee blade, and, even when the squeegee blade is made of readily deformable rubber-like elastic material, and the increase in the rotational speed of the cylindrical printing drum is increased, the squeegee blade is prevented from developing a juddering movement relative to the cylindrical printing drum.

An image processing apparatus comprising: an input unit for inputting an image of an initial original; a support table on which the initial original is to be set, the support table being movably mounted along the input unit; a reflection-type focusing plate on which an OHP (overhead projector). original is to be set, the focusing plate being disposed along side the input unit; an image forming unit disposed under the focusing plate for forming on a sheet an image inputted from the input unit to provide an OHP original; and a projecting unit disposed above the focusing plate for projecting an image of the OHP original set on focusing plate.

The stencil duplicator includes: a cylindrical porous rotary printing drum and a means for selectively rotating it in a preferred direction; a means for clamping the leading edge of a stencil master along a generator of the printing drum; a means for supplying printing ink to the inner surface of the printing drum; a press roller means for pressing a paper sheet to the outer surface of the printing drum with a progressive rolling action; a means for feeding a paper sheet between the printing drum and the press roller means; a means for making a stencil master, including a light transmitting plate, a light source which selectively illuminates the light transmitting plate, and a pressure plate facing the light transmitting plate, with the light transmitting plate and the pressure plate being selectively able either to be separated or pressed together; a means for feeding the leading edge of a stencil master which has passed between the light transmitting plate and the pressure plate towards the clamping means so that it may be clamped thereby; and a means for controlling operation so that, when the light transmitting plate and the pressure plate are separated from one another with a stencil master interposed therebetween, the printing drum is rotated and by pulling via the clamping means on the leading edge of the stencil master withdraws it and wraps it around the printing drum.

A magnet strip extends along a line on the peripheral surface of a printing drum of a rotary stencil printing device and parallel to the rotational axis thereof. A clamp strip, made of a material which is magnetically attractable, can be selectively positioned as lying against and along the magnet strip with a leading edge of a stencil master for stencil printing interposed therebetween so as to clamp the leading edge of the stencil master to the printing drum, or removed away from the magnet strip so as to release the stencil master. Thereby the stencil master can be conveniently retained to the printing drum in a manner which is suitable for automation, and does not require any reinforced lug portion along the leading edge of the stencil master.

A stencil sheet having a thin stretched thermoplastic resin film supported on an ink pervious porous substrate is positioned on an original manuscript in a manner such that the film may be in close contact with the imaged side of the manuscript. The assembly is then irradiated by a light which is rich in rays having a wavelength ranging from 0.7 to 1.2 microns and has a flash duration of from 10.sup.-4 to 10.sup.-3 second. A xenon-filled electronic flash discharge tube is found to be the most suitable light source. Stencil openings formed thereby on the film surface are excellent in definition and free from marginal swelling therearound. The stencil prepared by this method can produce copies of 2000 or more which correspond exactly with the original manuscript.
