摘要: In an element substrate of a liquid crystal device, in a peripheral region interposed between an image display region and a seal material, a peripheral electrode to which a potential is applied for trapping ionic impurities which is different from a common potential applied to a dummy pixel electrode or the like is formed. In the peripheral electrode, an electrode width of a first portion opposing a sealing material provided at a liquid crystal injection opening of the seal material is set to be greater than electrode widths of the other portions.

摘要: An ink cartridge that is filled with ink and, used with the ink cartridge loaded into a printer includes a reservoir that reserves the ink, an outlet through which the ink is supplied to the printer with the ink cartridge loaded, at least one ink supply system that includes a channel that leads the ink from the reservoir to the outlet, and a sensor that detects whether the channel is filled with the ink or gas, an ink cartridge terminal that is electrically coupled to the sensor and makes contact with a printer terminal disposed on the printer upon loading of the ink cartridge. A detection region of the channel where detection is carried out by the sensor is previously filled with gas with the ink cartridge yet to be used. Whether or not the use of the ink cartridge is proper is determined based on information from the sensor.

摘要: In order to integrally manage computers and peripheral devices at a user site, when a device monitoring server (203a) receives a trouble message from a device, it sends a message indicating this to a device center server (210) via a router (204). If the received message is a trouble message, the device center server (210) controls an event adapter to convert the received message into a format that a center server can process, and transfers the converted message to the center server (110). Upon receiving the message, the center server (110) displays occurrence of a trouble in an event list using an event monitor (110a). The user can simultaneously monitor the versatile computers and peripheral devices by observing the event monitor.

摘要: Aspects of the invention are intended to stabilize the initial state of an active matrix so as to reduce unnecessary power consumption and stabilize the operation. The driving device can include a selection device that is coupled to any of a plurality of row direction lines and any of a plurality of column direction lines, and by which a selected state and a non-selected state of the row direction lines or the column direction lines are switched to each other. The driving device can also include a device that switches to the non-selected state that switches the selection device coupled to the row direction lines or the selection device coupled to the column direction lines to a non-selected state. Selection by the selection device can be implemented after the selection device is switched to a non-selected state by the device that switches to the non-selected state.
