A voltage control system for a vehicular power generator includes a receiver unit that receives voltage pulse signals indicating characteristics of the voltage control system from an external device with stability. The device periodically reads two cycles of leading edges or trailing edges, or two periods of high level pulses or low level pulses. When a difference between the two cycles or periods is within a predetermined range, the indicated value of the present voltage pulse signal is used to control the power generator. When the difference is out of the predetermined range, the indicated value of the stored previous pulse signal is used instead.

The present invention provides a lightweight and simply-configured watercraft of a jet-propulsive type that can maintain steering capability in a way adapted to forward movement and rearward movement of the watercraft even when throttle-close operation is performed and the amount of water ejected from a water jet pump is thereby reduced. During forward movement, when the throttle-close operation and steering operation of a steering handle are detected and an engine speed is between an idling speed and a predetermined engine speed, the engine speed is temporarily increased. During rearward movement, when the engine speed is the idling speed, the engine speed is temporarily increased in the same way. The engine speed is increased by changing a fuel injection timing of a fuel injection system, a fuel injection amount, and/or an ignition timing of an ignition system of the engine.

Engine speed is increased by a push-pull cable provided between a rotational shaft of a steering handle and a throttle lever. The throttle lever is forced to rotate which opens a throttle valve according to the amount of steering. Alternatively, the engine speed is increased by increasing a fuel of an auxiliary air-fuel mixture supplying system provided independently of a main air-fuel mixture supplying system while a throttle-close operation and a steering handle operation are detected. The auxiliary supplying system is provided in a position of an air supplying passage to the main supplying system and an air-fuel mixture supplying passage of the main supplying system directly or indirectly through a predetermined connecting passage.

The combination of a discharge lamp and luminaire contribute to ensuring the discharge lamp remains unilluminated when nearing the end of its useful life to prevent high temperature damage. Load circuit characteristics are set to provide low release voltage and high short-circuit current during full-intensity illumination, and high release voltage and low short-circuit current during dimmed operation. The discharge lamp operating in a dimmed mode at the end of its useful life is switched to full-intensity illumination mode to ensure the discharge lamp becomes unilluminated. This configuration prevents high temperatures at the electrodes from damaging the glass bulb, base, socket and other components of the discharge lamp and luminaire.

A method of metering an air-gap in an electric rotating machine comprising a rotor core provided integrally on a rotary shaft and a stator core arranged coaxially with the rotor core around the outer periphery thereof is disclosed, which method comprises measuring the width of the stator core in the radial direction prior to assembling the stator core and the rotor core, also measuring the position of an outer periphery of the stator core from the axis of the rotor core after the assembling, calculating the position of an inner periphery of the stator core from the axis of the rotor core based on the difference between the result of measurement of the width of the stator core in the radial direction measured prior to the assembling and the result of measurement of the position of the outer periphery of the stator core from the axis of the rotor core after the assembling, and further calculating the difference between the position of the inner periphery of the stator core and the position of the outer periphery of the rotor core based on the results of the measurements, the thus-obtained difference being defined as an air-gap between the stator core and the rotor core.
