Abstract:
A filter element removably located in a housing having a central valve structure. The element has an end cap with a valve actuating portion. The valve actuating portion includes a cylindrical portion and an annular base projecting radially inward from the cylindrical portion. The valve actuating portion includes a plurality of thin, flat keys spaced around the annular base and projecting radially inward from the cylindrical portion and axially outward from the base. The keys engage the valve structure in the housing when the element is installed, and open up a flow passage through the housing.
Abstract:
A filter assembly includes housing enclosing a replaceable filter element. A support core is provided in the housing, and includes an extension and locking assembly. The element includes a ring of filtration media with a pair of end caps. The first end cap includes a central opening to receive the support core. The extension and locking assembly prevents the cover of the housing from being attached to the housing body without a proper filter element installed. The extension and locking assembly includes a bypass member and a locking member, which are in locking engagement when an element is absent in the housing. The second end cap includes internal protrusions which engage the locking member when the filter element is installed to disengage the bypass member from the support core, and allow the element to be inserted and the cover to be installed.
Abstract:
A filter apparatus comprises a filter element to be positioned in an interior region defined by a housing. The filter element comprises a quick-drain valve member to block a flow of fluid from the interior region through a quick-drain outlet defined by the housing when the filter element is positioned in the interior region and to allow a flow of fluid from the interior region through the quick-drain outlet when the filter element is removed from the interior region.
Abstract:
A valve for controlling a fluid flow, in particular for crankcase venting of an internal combustion engine, including a base body (37), a valve body (22) and a biasing means (23), the base body (37) having a valve side (45) and an opposite side (46) situated opposite the valve side (45), a part of the valve body (22) protruding through an opening (47) situated in the base body (37), the biasing means (28), in particular a compression spring, being arranged between the opposite side (46) of the base body (37) and the valve body (22) and supported against the opposite side of the base body (37).
Abstract:
A quick-connect coupling for opening a valve to allow discharge of a liquid. The coupling is particularly suited for discharging motor oil from the oil pan or oil filter of an internal combustion engine. The coupling includes at least one latching element which engages the valve in order to open it. The other end of the quick-connect coupling is preferably connected to a hose that leads, in turn, to an oil collection vessel.
Abstract:
There is provided an oil filter capable of preliminarily confirming a correct assembling of a valve body to a holder and preventing the valve body from being abnormally assembled. A valve seat 22 is welded to a cap 14 covering a filter element 12. A claw portion for a valve body 25e is formed on the valve body 25, and an engagement portion for the valve body 27e to be engaged with the claw portion for the valve body 25e is formed on a holder 15 assembled with the inner peripheral side of the filter element 12. In addition, a spring member 29 is fitted between the valve body 25 and a spring receiving portion 27 provided for the holder 15. By the engagement of the claw portion for the valve body 25e with the engagement portion for the valve body 27e, the valve body 25 is assembled with the holder 15.

Abstract:
A filter for filtering lubricating oil or fuel for an internal combustion engine is disclosed herein. The filter includes a filter housing having an inner end for connection to a connection flange associated with the internal combustion engine and an outer end connected to a detachable cover. The inner end of the housing includes a filter inlet duct, a filter return duct, and a plurality of coaxially spaced radial filter seals for providing a seal between the filter housing and the connection flange. The connection flange includes a connection inlet duct in matching registry with the filter inlet duct, a connection return duct in matching registry with the filter return duct, and a plurality of coaxially spaced sealing surfaces each in matching registry with a respective one of the radial filter seals. A locking connection is provided for securing the filter housing against the connection flange at a plurality of said angular positions with respect to the connecting flange.
Abstract:
In a fluid filter with a housing and a filter element replaceably located in said housing, and with a filter by pads valve having a valve body held in the housing that is movable against the action of a spring from the closed position in which it cooperates with a sealing surface, into an open position in which it permits a fluid flow to bypass the filter element. The invention proposes that the sealing surface associated with the valve body be formed by the replaceable filter element.
Abstract:
A liquid filter, in particular for oil or fuel in an internal combustion engine, with the liquid filter comprising a filter housing with at least one liquid intake passage and at least one liquid return passage, a releasable cover which closes the filter housing liquid-tight, and an individually replaceable filter insert which can be removed from the filter housing. A hollow fastening screw is arranged centrally in the front wall of the filter housing with the front wall facing the filter connecting flange when in the mounted condition, with the fastening screw turnable in relation to the filter housing. The liquid filter may be tightly screwed to a filter connecting flange of, e.g., an internal combustion engine. A longitudinal middle axis of the filter housing and the plane of the front wall are arranged at an angle
