Abstract:
An internal combustion engine liquid filter, comprising: a filter housing and housing cover a ring filter element; at least one intermediate piece arranged below the filter housing cover and above the housing; an inlet channel arranged on the housing side, communicating with a crude side of the ring filter element, and an outlet channel arranged on the housing side, communicating with a pure side of the ring filter element; a drainage channel on the housing side, wherein the housing space drains through the drainage channel when removing the filter housing cover; and a closure mechanism arranged in the intermediate piece and the closure mechanism is rotatable about a filter axis, wherein the closure mechanism has a closure element for closing the drainage channel.
Abstract:
An air cleaner having a housing body and a removable cover and a filter element, in which the cover and the filter element rotationally interfere with each other by engagement between an inside surface of the cover and an outer radial periphery of the filter element. A filter element includes a pair of end caps, filter media, and an outer wall on the end cap circumscribing the filter media, in which the outer wall is non-circular. A method of installing a filter element into a housing includes orienting a cover over an element and a housing body by engaging an inside surface of the cover and an outer radial periphery of the filter element to rotationally interfere with each other.
Abstract:
A filter assembly for fluid filtration having a push-activated lock and release mechanism. A push filter design activates a floating key lock upon insertion and extraction, where the filter key may be used simultaneously as a lock and as an identifier for particular filter attributes. The filter base may be situated inline, and in fluid communication, with influent and effluent piping, such as within a refrigerator. The filter housing assembly may be attached to, and removed from, the filter base by a push-actuated release. Upon insertion, the filter key shifts the filter lock longitudinally to receive interlocking segments. Upon extraction, the same axial push shifts the filter lock further to align the interlocking fingers within gaps that allow for easy extraction. The specific key lock design allows a user to identify and match certain filter configurations received by the mechanical support, and reject other filter configurations.
Abstract:
A filter including a filter bowl (4), filer head (48) and filter element (2). The filter element (2) comprises a locking ring (12), a first end cap (6) coupled to the locking ring (12), a filter media (10) coupled to the first end cap (6), and a locking rib (30) extending outwardly from the locking ring (12). The locking rib (30) comprises a first portion (34) which extends radially from the locking ring (12) and a second portion (38) which extends from the first portion (34) around the periphery of the locking ring (12). At least part of the second portion (38) of the locking rib (30) is arranged to flex relative to the first portion (34) of the locking rib (30). The locking rib (30) forms part of a bayonet connection.
Abstract:
One embodiment is a unique replaceable filter element. Further embodiments, forms, objects, features, advantages, aspects, and benefits shall become apparent from the following description and drawings.

Abstract:
A fluid filter includes a base plate, a canister, and filtering media contained in the canister for filtering fluid from an inlet port to an outlet port. Notches are formed into an outer periphery of the base plate. An annular bead of the canister side wall is partially formed into the notches to provide a torque locking mechanism between the base plate and the canister. The terminating lip portion of the canister is wrapped around the outer face of the base plate and formed into an annular trough to directly secure the base plate to the canister. The annular trough includes a diverging outer wall that provides a narrow contact interface between the terminating lip portion and the retention corner of the base plate to thereby reduce moment loads induced therebetween as a result of high fluid pressures in the filter.
Abstract:
Fluid filter elements and assemblies are used to separate contaminants from a fluid, such as oil or fuel, prior to reaching an engine. Fluid filter assemblies may comprise a housing, a filter element, and a filter head. The Filter element may be disposed within the filter housing and enclosed by the filter head. Fluid enters the housing and passes through the filter element. The fluid may then exit the assembly. A connector may be used to connect the filter element to the filter head to ensure proper installation and simplify removal of a fouled filter element. The connector permits removable coupling of the filter element to the filter head and resists unintentional disengagement to securely couple the filter element to the filter head.
Abstract:
A fluid filtering system includes a housing portion and a lid portion, with a safety pin mechanism extending through the lid portion which prevents the fluid filtering system from operating correctly through visual indicators. A vent bore is included in the housing which includes a vent gasket therein for proper seating of the lid portion against the housing portion to prevent leakage of fluid being filtered. An inner circumferential gasket is also included to secure the lid portion to the housing portion and to prevent fluid leakage. A camming interface between the lid portion and the housing portion assures a secure fit of both the lid portion and the housing portion; the safety pin mechanism disallows the lid portion from being removed from the housing portion, thereby preventing accidental, and unsafe, release of the lid portion from the housing portion.
Abstract:
A liquid filter arrangement is provided, as well as methods of assembly and use. The liquid filter arrangement includes an anti-drain back valve assembly therein. Advantageous features, relating to a preferred filter cartridge and preferred anti-drain back valve arrangement, are provided.
