Abstract:
Described is an air-tight flexible transparent container containing at least one living flower immersed in an aqueous suspension. The article is useful (i) for display purposes; and/or (ii) for analysis of the head space in the container above the living flower when the container is fitted with a tube effecting communication of the internal 3-space (internal volume) of the container with outside analytical means and/or (iii) for aromatizing the environment surrounding the container when the container is fitted with a wick effecting communication of the internal 3-space (internal volume) of the container with the environment surrounding the container.
Abstract:
A controlled atmosphere apparatus comprising a rigid base and a transparent plastic hood is disclosed. The apparatus is suitable for use as an anaerobic incubator and is provided with a docking mechanism to receive a transport unit. A transport unit suitable for the transport of anaerobes and method of transporting anaerobes from remote locations to a controlled atmosphere apparatus are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A mixing tank and filtration system for operating room use. The tank is utilized for mixing a cement that is employed in reconstructing joints such as the hip joint, and mixing must take place in the operating room because the cement sets up in a very short time. The only presently approved cement gives off toxic fumes during the mixing which fumes frequently have a detrimental effect on the patient and operating room personnel. The mixing tank and filtration system disclosed herein are constructed and arranged to contain and draw off the toxic fumes whereby the detrimental effects on personnel are eliminated.
Abstract:
An automation system includes a robotic arm with an end effector configured to learn from demonstrations. The automation system receives a demonstration of a lab protocol for operating a type of machine from a user and records a sequence of actions associated with operating the type of machine based on the demonstration. For each action, computer vision is used to derive information associated with the action. The automation system extracts semantic meanings of the action based in part on the information and generates a machine-executable protocol for operating the type of machine by a robot based in part on the semantic meanings of the actions. In some embodiments, the automation system further includes a closed-loop control subsystem that uses computer vision and/or other sensors (e.g., force torque sensors) to automatically maintain a desired state or set point associated with operation of the type of machine.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a partition panel for the detachable insertion into a laboratory chamber, for example an incubator, cold chamber, heating chamber, drying chamber of climate chamber, wherein the partition panel comprises a substantially rectangular flat base body with a lower edge, an upper edge, a front edge, a back edge as well as two parallel side faces, wherein on the base body at least one insertion hook open toward the front edge and at least one spring element for generating a force in the direction toward the front edge are disposed.
Abstract:
Enclosures and corresponding magnetic joints. An apparatus includes an enclosure. The enclosure includes a magnetic panel joint formed by: a first panel carrying a magnet and comprising a first pocket; a second panel including a second pocket; and a ferromagnetic shield coupled within the second pocket and couplable within the first pocket via the magnet.
Abstract:
A method and device for processing an agricultural product is provided. The device includes a chamber having an opening, and a heater operative to heat the contents of the chamber. A sensor having an output is coupled to the chamber, the sensor output being processed to provide information about at least one of: a state of decarboxylation, or a quantity of a material in the contents of the chamber. The method includes loading a quantity of the agricultural product in a chamber having an port and applying an elevated temperature to the chamber to increase a rate of decarboxylation. A property of a gas is measured at the port the measurement being processed to determine one of either: a state of decarboxylation, or a quantity of material in the sample.
