Abstract: Liquid silicate products derived from processed organic plant matter (112), such as rice hulls, have improved purity and properties for use in the production of higher purity amorphous silica compositions (180). The liquid silicate can be optically clear, can have a controlled ratio of silica to metal earth oxide components, and can have lower concentrations of undesirable contaminants such as aluminum, chloride, iron, sulfate, and titanium.

Abstract: A temperature chamber in which a device is tested is connected to a temperature-controlled air source for controlling temperature of the chamber. The temperature chamber includes thermal insulation formed on side surfaces of the chamber. A universal manifold adaptor for directing the temperature-controlled air directly to a device being tested is connected to the chamber. The temperature chamber also includes an exhaust system. A self-closing cable feed-through module is connected to an outer surface of the chamber. The feed-through module includes a first portion and a second portion, wherein cables are fed through the first and second portions into the chamber in a first position and the first and second portions form a leak tight seal around the cables in a second position.

Abstract: An electrolytic membrane valve and method of its manufacture are provided. The valve includes a substrate comprising an opening and a conductive membrane impermeable to a conductive media and sealing the opening, as well as a cathode on the substrate and in communication with the membrane through the conductive media, and an anode on the substrate directly contacting the membrane. The anode is at least partially protected from electrochemical corrosion, and upon application of an electrical potential between the anode and the cathode, the membrane ruptures to allow flow of the conductive media through the opening.

Transparent windows are provided on both a portion of a back wall or a side wall of a work space in the safety cabinet and a portion of a rear wall or a side wall of the body of the safety cabinet separated from the back wall or the side wall of the work space by a circulation flow path, which allow the operator to see through both walls, and the display device is placed on an outer side portion of the transparent window provided at the portion of the rear wall or the side wall of the body of the safety cabinet.

Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting a liquid. Detection a liquid may include detecting liquid at a boundary of an area and reporting the presence of the liquid. Reporting liquid at a boundary may prevent leaking of the liquid form the area. Detecting also includes detecting liquid inside the area. The amount of liquid detected inside the boundary may relate to a range of amounts of liquid. The minimum amount of the range may represent the minimum amount of liquid that is permissible in the area prior to taking action to deal with the liquid.
