Abstract: There is provided a target installation apparatus. A rod-shaped member is capable of being arranged to extend in a vehicle width direction of the vehicle ahead of or behind the vehicle, and is provided with a target point indicating an installation position of the target. A reference member is formed such that reference points are positioned on left and right outer sides in the vehicle width direction of the vehicle when the reference member is arranged with respect to the vehicle. A connection unit connects the rod-shaped member and the reference member such that a distance from the reference point to the target point in the front-and-rear direction satisfies a predetermined condition.

Abstract: An assembly-free tool for maintenance of an engine in a vehicle is described. The tool comprises a bar extending in an axial direction and having a first portion with a first end and a second portion with a second end and a housing surrounding the first portion of the bar. The bar is axially translatable in relation to the housing. The housing comprises an embedded locking structure for holding the bar in a locking position to stop the movement of the bar in the axial direction. The bar, the housing and the locking structure are retained as one unit such that they are non-detachable from each other.

Abstract: A fastener locating tool equipped with a sensor head having one or more probes and a method for operating such a tool for precisely locating a fastener that is hidden or buried under a thick coating applied on a surface of a structure. The fastener locating tool may be manually or automatically operated. The fastener locating tool includes a platform having a central opening, means for temporarily attaching the platform to a coated surface, and a sensor head that may be easily mechanically coupled to and then later decoupled from the platform. Optionally, the fastener locating tool also includes a multi-stage positioning system with X and Y stages which may be used to adjust the position of the sensor head. The sensor head includes at least one probe which generates electrical signals indicating the presence of a fastener beneath a coating when the probe is within a detection range.

Abstract: A robot includes an actuator that changes an angle of a second member relative to a first member in accordance with a command value. In a first step of an angle calibration method, a measurement object distance is obtained by measuring a distance between wall surfaces of the two measurement object portions, the measurement being made while the actuator is given an arbitrary command value. In a second step, an angular difference is obtained by calculation, the angular difference corresponding to a difference in distance between two measurement object portions, the calculation being made based on a reference measurement object distance obtained in the past and the measurement object distance obtained in the first step, the reference measurement object distance having been obtained by measuring the measurement object distance while the actuator was given an arbitrary command value.

Abstract: A system for positioning post sleeves is provided including a plurality of post sleeve positioning devices and a spacing mechanism. Each post sleeve positioning device is configured to receive a respective post sleeve and to enable selective adjustment of a position and orientation of the respective post sleeve.
