摘要： An apparatus (10) for turning steerable wheels of a vehicle comprises a housing (14) that defines a fluid chamber (24). A rack bar (26) extends longitudinally through the housing (14) and is connectable with the steerable wheels of the vehicle. The rack bar (26) is movable relative to the housing (14) for turning the steerable wheels. A piston assembly (34) is fixedly attached to the rack bar (26) and sealingly engages the housing (14). The piston assembly (34) divides the fluid chamber (24) into first and second chamber portions (40 and 42). A fluid source (80) directs fluid toward one of the first and second chamber portions (40 or 42) for creating a differential pressure between the first and second chamber portions (40 and 42). The piston assembly (34) and the rack bar (26) move relative to the housing (14) in response to the differential pressure. The piston assembly (34) includes structure (132) for dampening fluid pulsations emanating from the fluid source (80).

摘要： A power assisted, vacuum actuated steering system with a rotary valve and vacuum actuators. The rotary valve has two identical discs which each include grooves and channels for communicating the vacuum pressure to the vacuum actuators. The relative rotary motion of the two discs causes the vacuum pressure to pass to the vacuum actuators to assist the steering of a vehicle. A set of springs and spring arms biases the discs to a central, neutral position.

摘要： A bag-full indicator mechanism is provided for use on a mower that has a mower deck with cutting blades, a bag for collecting cut vegetation, and a chute communicating the mower deck with the bag. The bag-full indicator mechanism includes a vacuum actuator, vacuum means for providing a vacuum to the vacuum actuator, and sensing means for sensing that the bag is full. Preferably the vacuum means is the intake manifold of the mower engine. The bag-full indicator mechanism also includes activating means for activating the vacuum actuator and includes a switching means and a pivotable lever. Finally, indicating means is used for indicating that the bag is full and preferably includes a shutoff means for stopping the rotation of the cutting blades.

摘要： A riding lawn mower is provided that has an engine, a device that requires control and a vacuum actuated control mechanism for controlling the device. The vacuum actuated control mechanism includes a vacuum actuator having first and second chambers separated by a movable membrane, first connecting means for operatively connecting the vacuum actuator to the device, vacuum means for providing a vacuum to the vacuum actuator, activating means for selectively activating the vacuum actuator and securing means for securing the vacuum actuator in place. The securing means also secures the device in place.
