摘要: A recording apparatus having a plurality of interfaces capable of communicating with external devices performs recording based on recording data input through any one of the plurality of interfaces. The recording apparatus determines which interface is used for receiving the recording data from the plurality of interfaces, and performs conversion processing on the recording data by increasing the amount of data in accordance with the determination result of which interface is used for receiving the recording data. The conversion processing changes depending on whether or not the interface used for receiving the recording data is an interface having a relatively high transfer rate (high speed interface).

摘要: A pluggable Raster Imaging Processor (RIP) system with two layers. The first layer is the RIP manager layer, which is mainly responsible for load balancing when multiple jobs requiring different types of raster conversion are encountered. The top layer is also responsible for communicating with other modules such as the Job Manager to start the job at the right trigger and obtain the type of rasterization required, and the Print Data Manager to forward the job to the physical image output device. The second layer includes a series of pluggable Raster Image Processors which perform the actual rasterizing of the images. Different Raster Image Processors can be plugged into the controller by registering themselves to the RIP manager layer. When registering, the Raster Image Processor denotes what types of images it can rasterize, such as FAX, PDL, or other formats.

摘要: In connection with a host processing system (90) capable of delivering commands and raw image data, an apparatus (100) for formatting raw image data and selectively delivering enhanced image data to a print processing subsystem (92). An image data bus section (120) comprises an image bus interface (122) coupled to a host processing system (90) configured to transmit raw image data, a front end memory (124) coupled to the image bus interface (122) to receive the raw image data, a back end memory (126) for receiving the enhanced image data, and a print processing subsystem (92) coupled to the back end memory (126) via a print interface (128) for transmitting print data based on the enhanced image data. A processor bus section (140) comprises an image processor (146) and a processor bus interface (142) adapted to be coupled to the host processing system (90) in order to communicate print processing instructions between the print processor (146) and the computer (90). A gateway (160) couples the print processor (146) to the front end memory (124) and the back end memory (126) whereby the print processor (146) receives the raw image data from the front end memory (124), formats the image data, and transmits the enhanced image data to the back end memory (126). The image data signals and the processor instruction signals are separated and transmitted over separate buses and bus interfaces to minimize processor I/O wait states and parasitic capacitance.

摘要: An image data processing apparatus and method in which a FIFO memory replicates identical image data in a bit-map formation based on a timing signal, and a pattern recognizing section recognizes characteristics of a line shape of a boundary between a black-dot region and a white-dot region of the image data. In addition, a determining device determines whether or not a relevant dot is one to be corrected is determined, and a dot correction section performs correction on the dot. Also included is a replication number setting unit which sets any number of times the FIFO memory repeatedly outputs the replicated image data to a window by replicating the identical image data.

摘要: A device and method to render a page in a printing device are described. In an implementation, an object to be rendered onto the pixel map is converted from a description in pixel coordinates to a representation in lower resolution surface units. The lower resolution surface units are compared to a lower resolution map of the page. If the representation does not overlap an object in the lower resolution map, then an indication is formed that the object can be rendered on the pixel map without destination dependent operations.
