摘要： A post production offline editing system including a processor programmed to display an initial menu prompting a user to select a multiple camera editing mode (in which the user selects edits while simultaneously viewing scenes from two or more sources), a single camera editing mode, a display edit information mode, or a scene take management mode. Preferably in the single camera edit mode, the user may select a splice (or transition) between two edits by selecting a sequence of items from sequentially displayed transition menus. For example, a first pulldown transition menu prompts the user to select a general transition type such as a "dissolve" or "wipe," and a second pulldown transition menu then prompts the user to select one of several versions of the selected general transition type. In the multiple camera editing mode, the user may select either a set-up mode or an execute mode. In the edit list management mode, the user may select a variety of modes, including a rehearse mode, a list management mode, and a reformat mode. In the display edit information mode, the invention preferably displays a partial edit list and a highlight icon, respectively, in first and second areas of a monitor screen. When a user selects a region of the highlight icon corresponding to a selected edit, the system highlights the selected edit from the displayed list and displays information about the selected edit in a third area of the monitor screen.

摘要： A method and apparatus for disabling the effect of copy-protect signals placed in a recording video signals which is based on differences in the characteristics of television and VCR circuitry. Copy-protect signals include pseudo-sync pulses and/or added AGC pulses in the blanking interval of a video signal. The specific method described includes altering the level of the video signal during the vertical blanking interval, e.g., level-shifting, so as to render the copy-protect signals ineffective to prevent unauthorized copying by a VCR. A circuit for achieving the method includes a sync separator for detecting the vertical blanking interval, pulse generating circuits for producing pulses of predetermined widths during this interval, and a summing circuit for summing the predetermined pulses with copy-protect signals thereby to shift their level. An alternative method includes increasing the effective frequency of the copy-protect signals during the vertical blanking interval so as to achieve attenuation and/or low-pass filtering in the VCR circuitry to thereby render the signals ineffective in preventing copying. A circuit for achieving this method includes pulse narrowing and/or pulse multiplication circuitry which effectively increased the high-frequency content of the pseudo-sync and/or AGC pulses.

摘要： The present invention is a video signal controller which can operate in one of two modes; play back mode and recording mode. Each camera has its own assigned display monitor and address code sequence. During operation of the video controller, each video signal is combined with its corresponding address signal that identifies from which camera the video signal is originally generated. The video signal and each address signal are then recorded via VTR onto a video tape. When the video signal controller is in play back mode, it extracts the synchronization signal and address signals from signals outputted by the VTR. The address signal and synchronization signals are used to locate and identify proper monitor to display its corresponding segment of signals from the VTR. Each monitor then plays back only those signals generated from its corresponding camera.
