The structure may include index matching layers or a cavity layer to enhance emissions. The layer thicknesses of the structure may be spatially varied to modify the emission spectrum versus emission angle. The self-focusing structure may be fabricated into a convex electrically heated wire filament light bulb, a concave visible thermophotovoltaic emitter, a concentric directional heat exchanger, an electronic display, or a variety of irregularly shaped remotely read temperature or strain sensors.

    摘要: The invention relates to a halogen incandescent lamp for motor vehicle headlamps with two incandescent filaments (21, 22), which are arranged within a lamp vessel (10), wherein a first incandescent filament (21) is designed for operation with a higher electrical power than the second incandescent filament (22), wherein the incandescent filaments (21, 22) are constructed in such a way that their dimensions and/or their geometry are in each case matched to an operating voltage of at least 20 volts, and at least the second incandescent filament (22) is an incandescent filament in the form of a single coil. Preferably, both incandescent filaments (21, 22) are in the form of incandescent filaments with a single coil, wherein the first incandescent filament (21) is used, for example, for producing the upper beam or lower beam and the second incandescent filament (22) is used for producing the daytime driving light or foglight.

    摘要: An ultraminiature light source using a double-spiral shaped tungsten filament includes end contact portions which are separated to allow for radial and length-wise unwinding of the spiral. The double-spiral filament is spaced relatively far apart at the end portions thereof so that contact between portions of the filament upon expansion is avoided. The light source is made by fabricating a double-spiral ultraminiature tungsten filament from tungsten foil and housing the filament in a ceramic package having a reflective bottom and a well wherein the filament is suspended. A vacuum furnace brazing process attaches the filament to contacts of the ceramic package. Finally, a cover with a transparent window is attached onto the top of the ceramic package by solder reflow in a second vacuum furnace process to form a complete hermetically sealed package.
