    摘要: A winding machine for winding wire includes a spindle on which a spool is mounted, and a reciprocating traverse for guiding an advancing wire onto the spool. The motion of the traverse is controlled by a programmable motion controller. A cam profile is stored in the controller's memory which defines the relationship between the traverse position and the angular position of the spindle. A periodic rotation signal is generated indicative of the angular position of the spindle. In response to each periodic rotation signal, the programmable controller determines the corresponding position of the traverse as set forth in the cam profile and produces a control signal which causes the traverse to move to the commanded position. Gear ratios between the spindle motor and traverse motor are supported.

    摘要: An automatic strand winding unit having a plurality of stations each comprising a strand supply such as glass roving, guide/traverse means, a horizontally positioned spindle for taking up strand material and automation for servicing the winding unit is described. The winding unit, including the automation, is programmed whereby, inter alia, the automation moves into a station having a full spindle, cuts the strand between the strand supply and the horizontally positioned full spindle and, while retaining the strand end from the strand supply, doffs the full spindle by pivoting the spindle to a substantially vertical or down position, and thereafter engages the strand end with a horizontally positioned empty spindle and restarts the winding operation. In a preferred embodiment the automatic winding unit is for winding glass roving using an improved coreless, expandable spindle having an automatic strand engaging and releasing mechanism.

    摘要: Packages, particularly cross-wound packages are produced directly at a ring spinning frame. In a method and apparatus for making packages a rewinding device is provided for a group of spinning stations. The rewinding device comprises a fixed winding station and a gripping device movable along the group of spinning stations. The rewinding device is able to perform all the manipulations for starting up a spinning process with empty yarn carriers. It is also possible to change the full yarn carriers and mount the empty yarn carriers on a spinning frame, remove thread breaks and carry out spinning following a batch change. Spinning of the individual yarn carriers takes place individually, so that when replacing one yarn carrier, the other spinning stations continue to operate. This leads to a high production rate of the ring spinning frame and simultaneously reduces costs for rewinding compared with known systems.

A compensator arm assembly comprising a plurality of compensator arms with each having a guide roll is positioned in substantially vertical alignment relative to the take-up spindles, with each of the compensator arms of the assembly individually controlling the speed of the drive motor for a take-up spindle. The plurality of yarn strands are fed to the compensator arm guide rolls at an angle of at least 60 degrees and no greater than 90 degrees. The take-up mechanism can be arranged in a compact manner which is of critical concern in a factory.
