    摘要: A tamper resistant lock. A lock has a lock housing with housing indentation. A cylinder is rotatably housed within the housing. A locking pin is connected to the cylinder and is inserted into the housing indentation when the lock is in a locked position and the locking pin is clear of the housing indentation when the lock is in an unlocked position. An anti-tampering mechanism is positioned between the housing and the cylinder. The anti-tampering mechanism receives a user's key and also includes a relative motion hole. A key extension portion is rotatably inserted inside the anti-tampering mechanism body and includes a relative motion indentation. The key extension portion is keyed to the cylinder. A lock ball is inserted into the relative motion hole and the relative motion indention, thereby preventing relative motion between the anti-tampering mechanism body and the key extension portion. A flexible band is wrapped around the anti-tampering mechanism body and covers the lock ball and holds the lock ball in place in the relative motion hole and relative motion indentation. The flexibility of the flexible band is sufficient to permit the lock ball to leave the relative motion indentation while simultaneously retaining the lock ball in the relative motion hole if the anti-tampering mechanism body is rotated while the locking pin is inserted into the housing indentation, thereby permitting relative motion between the anti-tampering mechanism body and the key extension portion. In a preferred embodiment the tamper resistant lock is a padlock.

    摘要: Enhanced methods and systems for securing and monitoring cargo are described. Some examples provide a cargo monitoring system (“CMS”) that is configured to track, identify, and report about anomalous conditions or events related to cargo shipments. The CMS may include a software system that receives conditions information from electromechanical locks that secure cargo. The locks include data terminals that facilitate near real time monitoring of cargo. The electromechanical locks are installed on the bars or other mechanism (e.g., door rings) that lock the doors of a cargo container, train car, van door, or the like. The data terminals include logic that is configured to transmit to the CMS information about current conditions, such as location, temperature, lock status (e.g., open, closed), tamper attempts, and the like. The cargo monitoring system interprets the received information and performs various actions based thereon, such as to transmit alerts if anomalous conditions are detected.

    摘要: An EAS tag includes a cap component with a tack shaft. The cap component is contoured to engage with a body component. The body component has a clutch for receiving and retaining the tack shaft. The shape of the body component and the cap component, along with the position of the tack shaft, provide an initial resistance to twisting the cap with respect to the body. Both the cap and body components may have additional features which interact or interlock to prevent the cap from being twisted. Additionally, the EAS tag may incorporate a staining agent-based benefit denial system. The EAS tag is further adapted to be reusable after actuation of the benefit denial system, and includes a visual indication of a compartment containing a staining agent to serve as a visual deterrent to shoplifters.

This enables the necessity for carrying out an operation of the operating member again to be avoided even if the operating member is operated quickly, thus enabling the door to be opened smoothly.

    摘要: In order to enable a turning of a key of a lock cylinder onto a driven member (shaft 36) in the lock cylinder only when a proper key is inserted, yet to prohibit the turning in case of an overload, an overload lock is arranged therebetween. The driven member (shaft 36) should specifically actuate functions in the vehicle only if the correct key is used. A threshold rotation torque determines the change between the normal and the overload state. In order to improve the lock cylinder, it is furnished that a disengaging lever (40) is mounted in the cylinder housing (30) in a pivotable manner (42) and can be displaced between two pivot positions in a radial plane defined by the longitudinal axis (13) of the lock cylinder. A locking cam (41) belonging to the overload lock is arranged on the free end of the disengaging lever (40). When the disengaging lever pivots, a carrier (50) pivots in unison, the carrier having a coupling part which engages in a counter coupling part of the cylinder core (10) during normal function. The disengaging lever (40) and the carrier (50) form a common pivot unit. In case of overload, wherein a rotation of the cylinder core force, the carrier (50) is decoupled from the cylinder core (10).
