Abstract:
A control mechanism for manually adjusting a plurality of control parameters, the control mechanism including a mechanical multiple axis handle movable about a plurality of axes of rotation for operating an operated device, wherein each of the axes of rotation pass through the handle, and a movement transformation assembly to transform rotational movements of the handle to control commands to the operated device.
Abstract:
An expansion unit 50, 60 or 70 is connected to a controller body 10 including an analog direction key 12, a digital direction key 14, command buttons 20a-20z, command levers 22l, 22r, etc. An expansion unit 50 including a photo emitting unit 52 is connected to thereby make the controller cordless. An expansion unit 60 including a photo detecting unit 65, whereby shooting games in which an enemy on a monitor screen can be shot can be played. An expansion unit 70 including a vibration unit 75 is connected, whereby a vibration is given to the controller body 10 to make a shooting game more realistic. New functions can be added to the conventional controller, and the new functions can be added freely without making no change to the controller body.
Abstract:
An apparatus for converting side operated controls of a machine to be front operated. A front control panel or apron is vertically mounted on the machine, preferably using preexisting mounting hardware. Any preexisting front operated controls and front indicators are translated forward to the front of the control panel by extending their control linkages through respective holes defined by the panel. The linkage of each side operated control is articulated and bent through an angle sufficient to redirect the linkage for frontal operation, and the control end of the redirected linkage is translated forward to the front of the panel by protruding through and just beyond the panel. The articulation and redirection is preferably accomplished by a plurality of universal joints and the translation can be accomplished by estension shafts or extension arms. The controls can also be modified to increase or create a mechanical advantage for an operator. The apparatus can be designed as a kit for retrofitting preexisting machines.
Abstract:
In a control device, especially for heating and ventilation systems in mo vehicles, comprising a rotatable control knob and a linearly movable setting member, a lever is provided for coupling the knob and member and converting rotational motion of the knob into linear movement of the setting member. To achieve this, the control knob 2 is provided with a guide slope extending at an acute angle to the axis of rotation. A shorter arm portion of the lever is controlled by the guide slope. A longer arm portion of the lever is actuated by movement of the shorter arm portion against the guide slope and acts upon a coupled setting member in a linear manner.
Abstract:
An actuator mechanism for preconditioning a gearshift mechanism for movement into a selected gear such as low, reverse, or park. The actuator mechanism is in cartridge form so as to fit a wide variety of gearshift knob designs and sizes and the mechanism is arranged such that the pushbutton plunger assembly for preconditioning the transmission is moved to its retracted position by the spring of the actuator mechanism and is maintained in its extended position by the shift link of the shift lever.
Abstract:
A sheet material dispensing apparatus wherein the sheet passes through a nip formed by a drive roller and a pressure roller. A lever is mounted for rotation about a first point and a gear segment is mounted for rotation about a second point. When the lever is rotated, a point or surface on the lever slidingly contacts a point or surface on the gear segment causing the gear segment to rotate through a greater angle than the lever. The teeth of the gear segment are operably engaged with gear means which causes rotation of the drive roller. In another aspect of the invention, the gear means for rotating the drive roller includes a floating gear mounted in a slot that is aligned generally parallel to the teeth of the gear segment and which causes rotation of the drive roller during one direction of travel of the gear segment and is disengaged from the drive roller during the other direction of travel of the lever. The invention also employs an overload mechanism which prevents excessive force from being applied to the gears in the event the dispenser becomes jammed.
Abstract:
A tuning device for a radio receiver is disclosed wherein the manual knob which permits tuning and permits viewing of a radio frequency scale can be pivoted to face the operator directly. The manual knob is rotatably linked to a shaft of a tuning element, such as a variable capacitor or a variable inductance, by a coupling means including at least one universal joint.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an actuator mechanism for the fuel quantity control member of a fuel injection pump. The mechanism includes an output member which is driven by an electro-magnetic device and the flexible member which is connected to the control member of the injection pump. An arm is angularly movable about the output member and is connected to the link and a helically coiled torsion spring is provided to transmit motion between the output member and the radial arm. The control member mounts an abutment which can be contacted by a lever to move the control member towards the position of minimum fuel irrespective of the setting of the output member. During such movement, the spring is stressed.
