    摘要: An Event Management System (EMS) for logging and correlating alarm events in a network, and a method of efficiently integrating the EMS, which communicates in a standard format, with external devices and external viewers which communicate in device-specific formats. A plurality of core EMS components which log and correlate events are functionally separated from a plurality of EMS boundary components which interact with external devices and external viewers. The boundary components perform both generic external interface functions and device-specific functions. An external device's information, including a class and location for a protocol handler and a content handler for the external device, is stored in an information repository associated with the EMS. When a connection is initiated from the external device to one of the boundary components, the boundary component obtains the external device information from the information repository. The boundary component then remotely loads the protocol handler class and the content handler class, instantiates the protocol handler class and the content handler class, and connects the protocol handler class and the content handler class to the external device to convert information in the device's device-specific format to information in the standard format utilized by the EMS.

    摘要: A fire protection system for determining the existence of hazardous conditions within a building. The system includes a central monitor node for monitoring and displaying system status information. At least one zone node is located remote from the monitor node, and defines a plurality of fire protection zones within the building. A plurality of detectors are arranged within each zone at respective predetermined address locations. Each of the detectors includes a microcontroller for detecting and storing information indicating an occurrence of a hazardous event. The detectors have a normal negative state wherein no occurrence of a hazardous event is detected, and a positive state wherein the occurrence of a hazardous event is detected. The zone node includes detector interrogation circuitry for interrogating the plurality of detectors to determine their respective positive or negative states, and for determining the address location for each of the plurality of detectors in a positive state indicating the occurrence of a hazardous event. A communication line electronically interconnects the zone node and the monitor node for relaying information from the zone node to the monitor node indicating the address location for each of the plurality of detectors in a positive state. The address location of all detectors in a positive state is displayed to a system user at the monitor node.

    摘要: A Wiegand sensor is provided as a power source for an external circuit, wherein an alternating magnetic field changes the magnetic state of a Wiegand wire within the Wiegand sensor which, in turn, produces a substantial output pulse that is provided as a power source for the external circuit. The external circuit may be a transmitter that is powered by the output of the Wiegand sensor and upon being powered transmits an information signal to an appropriate receiver. The number of occurrences that the magnetic field alternates corresponds to and is ascertained from the number of information signals that are transmitted. The alternating magnetic field may be generated by magnets coupled to a rotating valve of a gas or water meter such that the occurrence of each transmission of the information signal represents the flow of a predetermined amount of gas or water through the meter. The use of a transmitter that is powered solely by a Wiegand sensor that senses the rotation of a meter allows for that meter to be placed in a generally inaccessible area wherein an appropriate receiver may be utilized to receive each transmitted information signal and to maintain the number of occurrences the transmitted information signal is received. The external circuit may be any number of other types of circuits including a transmitter that transmits an alarm signal to a receiver coupled to an alarm system, or a counter circuit that increments a count value stored therein each time the counter circuit is powered by the Wiegand sensor.

EVTBB). The measured digital values (Md) are transmitted as a message to a data concentrator and from buffers (Buf1) associated with each transducer (ECT1 . . . EVTBB), data are transferred with a clock pulse into post-buffers (Buf2) preceding the FIR filters (FIR), the clock pulse being formed from the synchronous character of the respective message and the fixed clock of a clock generator. In the data concentrator, a transmit message with measured digital values of the transducers with reduced sampling rate are formed from output buffers (Buf3) following the FIR filters (FIR) by means of a multiplexer (27) and transmitted to the protection or field device.

For diagnostic purposes an instantaneous reference value formed from the sensor signal may be compared with predefinable upper or lower reference threshold levels. If the instantaneous reference value exceeds or falls below the thresholds to a predefinable extent, a malfunction is detected. The reference levels correspond, for example, to the background noise present in knock-free operation. The fault detection or diagnosis may be performed only for the cylinder which emits the loudest noise or from which the loudest noise is recorded.

Each of the security system modules has a reference generating means for generating a variable reference voltage signal, which is controlled by control data received from the control panel. Each module also has means for selecting a loop input signal for analysis from a plurality of available loop input signals, and comparing means for comparing the selected loop input signal to the reference voltage signal. The comparing means generates an output signal when the selected loop input signal exceeds the reference voltage signal. The modules also have means for indicating to the control panel via the loop data bus the state of the reference generating means when the comparing means generates an output signal, whereby the control panel can determine the value of the selected loop input signal.
