摘要： Rather high temperature raise of internally oxidized Ag-Sn alloy contact materials due to a high contact resistance inherent to such materials, is eliminated. The high contact resistance which is caused by high concentration or supersaturation of metal oxides including tin oxides about contact surfaces, is avoided by having solute metals sublimated, reduced or extracted about the contact surface before the internal oxidation thereof. Sublimation and other treatments may be made after having the materials subjected to internal oxidation.

摘要： The gap between upper and lower electrodes 1, 2 is measured at constant intervals of time while a contact 5 and a base 6 are pressed by the upper and lower electrodes under a constant pressure. Supply of an electric current to the upper and lower electrodes is controlled upon elapse of a predetermined interval of time after the gap has reached a maximum 18. The amount of metal melted out of a joining interface between the contact 5 and the base 6 is thus quantized to improve and stabilize the quality of joining between the contact 5 and the base 6.

摘要： This invention relates to a plating means, wherein an accurate plating for a smaller work surface is carried out high-speedily. For this purpose, the smaller work surface is enclosed by a mask of the plating means, and a plating solution is jetted for the work surface from a nozzle disposed within a closed space of the mask inside. Further, the plating means according to this invention has means for suctioning and discharging speedily an extra plating solution together with atmosphere within the closed space as well as outer air induced by an outer air induction means. Further, the used plating solution is again returned to a plating solution tank by a preferred recycling system. Thus, consumption of the plating solution is saved greatly.

摘要： The movable arm of a circuit breaker provides at its lower extremity a backing surface against which a copper carrier is clipped. A movable contact is affixed to the exposed surface of the carrier beyond the backing surface, such that current flow between the contact and a flexible, conductive braid, also affixed to the carrier, is conducted through the carrier rather than the arm which may then be fashioned from a less expensive, relatively low conductivity material such as steel.

摘要： A tri-metallic electrical contact consisting of a head wire piece and a base wire piece which abut to an intermediate piece at its opposite ends, is produced by cold press operations performed by first and second die and punch sets. The first die and punch set causes plastic deformation of approximately only a half part of the aligned wire pieces, while keeping another half part of these pieces not deformed. The second die and punch set imparts, subsequent to, and independently from, the cold press operation performed by the first die and punch set, plastic deformation to the other half part of the pieces, whereby the abutting surfaces of the three wires are prevented from sliding movements laterally relative to each other during the cold press operations, and whereby irregular or insufficient deformation of the wires due to the differences of yield points of the wires is prevented.

摘要： An apparatus and method for forming an electrical switch assembly by lancing and forming a part of a terminal member through an unblanked part of an L-shaped switch blade member and thereafter staking the lanced and formed part of the terminal member to an adjacent surface of the switch blade member to secure the members together in abutting relation, the apparatus and method having a single reciprocating head that performs the lancing and forming step on a first stroke thereof and performs the staking step on a second stroke thereof. The head reciprocates substantially vertically beneath the abutting members, the head having a top portion for receiving one leg of the L-shaped switch blade and having a side against which the other leg is disposed. The method and apparatus has an arm for holding the other leg of the switch blade against the side of the head.
