    Abstract: A welding apparatus having a metal enclosure and a plastic end panels affixed to the enclosure to contain therein the various electrical components of the welding apparatus. There is an internal negative electrical stud within the metal enclosure that has a high voltage applied to the stud. A protective, non-conductive electrical shield is located between the electrical stud and other conductive components within the welding apparatus to prevent arcing between the electrical stud and those conductive components as well as to prevent arcing between the electrical stud and the metal enclosure itself.

    Abstract: An embeddable mounting device for permanently affixing a fixture to a concrete block wall. The embeddable mounting device of the first embodiment is in the form of an electrical box block. The electrical box block preferably includes three generally rectangular metal members, four vertical spacer members and two horizontal metal members. The first rectangular metal member and the second rectangular metal member preferably have equal dimensions. A first pair of vertical spacer members is secured between the first and second rectangular metal plate member in a manner to create at least one reinforcing bar and cement receiving cavity between the first and second metal members. The two of the vertical spacer members and the two horizontal metal members are attached to the third rectangular metal member to form an electrical housing or box.

    Abstract: A control plate for a gas discharge display device has a mechanically stable carrier plate of an electrically insulating material which has metallized column conductor tracks on one side and metallized row conductor tracks on an opposite side which in combination form a matrix of perpendicular rows and columns. The carrier plate has perforations extending through plate at points of intersection of the rows and columns. Each row and column is separately energizeable for selected transfer of electrons in the display device from one side of the plate to the other. The metallized tracks on each side extend a distance into the perforations so as to prevent charge accumulation within the perforations which would otherwise impair the control obtainable by the plate. The metallized portions of the perforations are separated by a ring of exposed carrier plate which is substantially nonconducting having a resistance of 100 megaohms or greater.

    Abstract: A data conversion and storage system incorporating a gas discharge panel having a light responsive element for sensing external light. When the panel is illuminated by projecting light onto the panel, the light responsive element combines with the electric field generated by an AC power source to cause selective glow discharges to occur. In this way, the image is converted by the panel to digital form with the glow discharges having a pattern corresponding to the image. After the image is removed, this information is stored until erased and also non-destructive transfer can be made to a readout device.
