摘要： A low profile electrical connector assembly includes plug and receptacle connectors having mating dielectric housings each mounting a plurality of terminals which include contact portions for interengagement with the contact portions of the terminals of the other connector. The terminals include mounting portions for surface connection to circuit traces on a pair of printed circuit boards. The receptacle terminals are generally U-shaped as defined by a first leg that is joined to the respective mounting portion of the terminal and a free spring contact leg that is engageable with the contact portion of one of the terminals of the other connector and which is preloaded on a shoulder of the receptacle housing. The first leg includes a proximal end fixed to the housing and a distal end movably supported therein to permit a portion of the first leg between the proximal end and the distal end to be flexibly movable into a slot in the housing during mating of the connectors.

A conductive terminal is mounted on the housing and includes a board contact portion for engagement with a circuit trace on the printed circuit board and a spring contact portion for engagement with a contact element of a mating connector component. The board contact portion is fixed at the mounting face of the housing and is adapted to engage the circuit trace on the printed circuit board when the contact portion is moved in a direction generally perpendicular to the board. The spring contact portion of the terminal projects from a side of the housing and is adapted to engage the contact element of the mating connector component when the contact element is moved in a direction generally parallel to the board.

摘要： A security system for automatically disabling an interruptable circuit vital to the operation of a motor vehicle after an ignition of the vehicle is turned off or disabled. The security system includes a base circuit with a relay for disabling the interruptable circuit after the ignition is disabled. The base circuit includes a logic circuit that detects when the ignition is disabled, and for sending a disable signal to the relay. In one embodiment, the base circuit includes a timer circuit for delaying the disable signal to the relay for a specified time period after the ignition is turned off. The disabled interruptable circuit, and the disabled motor vehicle, may be enabled upon actuation of a remote transmitter, or switch on the base circuit. The base circuit also includes adapters for connecting the base circuit to the interruptable circuit and to a power supply of the motor vehicle at a fuse panel of the motor vehicle. In an alternative embodiment, the interruptable circuit and the power supply are coupled to the base circuit by splicing a wire of the interruptable circuit and the power supply circuit, and coupling the spliced wire, with an another adaptor, to the base circuit. The security system also includes an optional vibration detector for detecting motion of the vehicle and a siren circuit for sounding an audible alarm in response to the detection of vibration by the vibration detector.

摘要： This disclosure relates to a high performance electrical connector, such as a modular plug, for example, used in high frequency data transmission systems, where such connector is intended to be mated to a receptacle type connector. The modular plug comprises a dielectric housing having a conductor receiving end, a conductor terminating end, a passageway communicating internally between the respective ends, and a spacing or insert in the passageway to receive and/or separate a plurality of conductors and to position them in a manner to improve the crosstalk performance of the modular plug. A preferred insert is characterized by having an upper surface and a lower surface to space or separate selected pairs of the conductors. Within the limits of the housing, the insert or spacing maximizes the separation of the selected pairs and arranges them in plural planes before being realigned into a common plane for termination at the conductor terminating end. Several alternative embodiments for the insert are disclosed, ranging from solid bodies to spacing members which may be removable.

When the male connector pin is plugged into the female connector body, the leaf spring urges the male connector pin against the female connector pin.
