An electronic device according to various embodiments of the disclosure includes: a processor, a plurality of couplers configured to detect signals of a plurality of frequency bands being simultaneously transmitted and/or received, a plurality of first switches connected to at least parts of the plurality of couplers and configured to adjust directions of the signals being detected, a plurality of second switches connected to the first switches and configured to block signals being output from the first switches, and a third switch connected to the plurality of second switches and configured to select one of the plurality of second switches, wherein the processor is configured to control the first switches, the second switches, and the third switch to detect one of the signals being simultaneously transmitted and/or received.-

Abstract: A radio wave measurement device includes a housing having a metallic layer, and a horizontal polarization antenna and a vertical polarization antenna that are both disposed on one face of the housing. The horizontal polarization antenna receives horizontally polarized waves, whereas the vertical polarization antenna receives vertically polarized waves. The radio wave measurement device further includes a switching unit connected to both the horizontal polarization antenna and the vertical polarization antenna, and an output unit connected to the switching unit. The switching unit includes a connection part connected to the output unit and a resistance part connected to a resistor. The switching unit switches between the antennas such that only one of the horizontal polarization antenna and the vertical polarization antenna is connected to the connection part, and the other antenna is connected to the resistor.

Abstract: There are provided mechanisms for beam forming using an antenna array comprising dual polarized elements. A method comprises generating one or two beam ports. The one or two beam ports are defined by combining at least two non-overlapping subarrays. Each subarray has two subarray ports. The two subarray ports have identical power patterns and mutually orthogonal polarizations. The at least two non-overlapping subarrays are combined via expansion weights. The expansion weights and map the one or two beam ports to subarray ports such that the one or two beam ports have the same power pattern as the subarrays. At least some of the expansion weights have identical non-zero magnitude and are related in phase to form a transmission lobe. The method comprises transmitting signals using said one or two beam ports.

Abstract: The disclosed structures and methods are directed to antenna systems configured to transmit and receive a wireless signal in and from different directions. An antenna structure comprises a pair of horizontal-polarization (HP) antenna units forming a first parallel-plate waveguide. One of the HP antenna units and a base unit form a second parallel-plate waveguide. The antenna further comprises a pair of vertical-polarization (VP) antenna units each located in one of the first and second parallel-plate waveguides. Each HP antenna unit comprises inverted F antennas (IFAs) configured to radiate a radio-frequency (RF) waves that are horizontally polarized. Each VP antenna unit comprises VP excitation elements configured to radiate the RF waves that are vertically polarized. A method for manufacturing of the antenna structure is also disclosed.

Abstract: A system and method for establishing secured wireless communications between electromagnetic communication devices. The method may include: generating a transmission polarization mode sequence at a first electromagnetic communication device, wherein the transmission polarization mode sequence includes a first plurality of antenna polarization modes used for transmitting electromagnetic signals; transmitting data from the first electromagnetic communication device using the transmission polarization mode sequence; obtaining a reception polarization mode sequence at the first electromagnetic communication device, wherein the reception polarization mode sequence is generated by a second electromagnetic communication device, and wherein the reception polarization mode sequence includes a second plurality of antenna polarization modes used for listening for electromagnetic signals; determining an initial key based on determining matches between the transmission polarization mode sequence and the reception polarization mode sequence; and carrying out communications between the first electromagnetic communication device and the second electromagnetic communication device based on the initial key.
