    Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing name-based routing through networks. In various embodiments, a broker manager in each of a plurality of networks may receive a subscription request for a network device from a client device, each device being locally accessible or disposed in an upstream or downstream network. The broker manager uses its client broker to communicate with a locally accessible client device, and uses its mediator broker (and, sometimes, an intermediate device(s)) to communicate with a locally accessible network device. The broker manager otherwise uses its messaging brokers to communicate with control channels of one or more networks. Once subscription with the network device has been established, any commands and responses between the client device and the network device may be routed over pub/sub channels via the broker managers and their brokers using name-based routing, without routing based on IP address of the network device.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a mechanism to support the creation of an SR policy using PCEP extensions. In one implementation, a PCE is in communication with a PCC using PCEP mechanisms. The PCE sends a first PCEP initiate message, PCInitiate, to the PCC, where the first PCEP message carries the central controller instruction with CC-ID for creating an SR policy. The PCC receives the first PCEP initiate message from the PCE, creates the SR policy using the SR policy parameters where the SR policy is a container independent of any candidate path. Further, the PCC sends a first PCEP report message, PCRpt, to the PCE to report the acknowledgement of the CC-ID and the newly created SR policy.

    Abstract: A discovery and routing service may generate a URL related to an application to be deployed to a cloud computing platforms, the URL providing access to an edge list containing one or more edge nodes. The discovery and routing service may connect at least one agent to the URL. The discovery and routing service may send authentication information to the agent, including an identifier related to the agent, and a set of agent labels. The discovery and routing service may insert, after authentication by the edge node, the authentication information into a routing mesh. The discovery and routing service may locate the agent, in response to a request, based on a comparison between the set of request labels and a set of agent labels. The discovery and routing service may connect the located agent with traffic to and from the routing mesh.

    Abstract: A system for facilitating traffic redirection for a multi-chassis link aggregation group (MCLAG) is provided. During operation, the system can participate in an MCLAG using a first interface of a first switch. The MCLAG can also include a second interface of a second switch. Based on predetermined unavailability for the first switch, the system can determine a sequence of applications for a plurality of traffic forwarding configurations. A respective configuration can facilitate loop prevention for traffic forwarded via the MCLAG. The system can then apply the plurality of configurations to the first switch based on the sequence of applications to redirect unicast traffic from the first switch to the second switch. Here, applying a respective configuration can include programming corresponding switch hardware with the configuration. Subsequently, the system can perform a set of operations on the first switch that triggers the predetermined unavailability.
