摘要: Described herein are techniques and mechanisms for providing a lean private copy of media content. According to various embodiments, a private copy of a media content item may be made specific to a user account. For example, to use a private copy of a media content item to present that media content item, a client machine may need to first perform operations such as account authentication, content licensing, and device-based DRM. The private copy of the media content item may be significantly deduplicated such that the actual size on disk of the private copy is small relative to the size of the uncompressed media content item. The private copy of the media content item may include reference information which maps the user account associated with the copy to data files associated with the recording.

摘要: In one embodiment, a method receives a first bundle and a second bundle for a video based on metadata for the video. The method stores the second bundle with a dependency on the first bundle when the second bundle is associated with a first set of control data parameters found in the first bundle that control a first aspect of access to the video. The second bundle is stored with a second set of control data parameters to control a second aspect of access to the video. When the first bundle is selected, the method accesses the first set of control data parameters for the first bundle. When the second bundle is selected, the method accesses the first set of control data parameters in the first bundle via the dependency to the first bundle and the second set of control data parameters for the second bundle.

摘要: A method and device for reading an item of multimedia content at a predetermined time that is recorded in a broadcast stream received by the device. Before the time, the device: sends a request to provide an item of content to be read to a remote server, receives an identifier of the item of content, associated with an item of stream marker information; stores the identifier in correspondence with the item of marker information, and downloads all or part of the item of content on the basis of the received identifier. At the predetermined time, the device: receives a stream containing an item of marker information identical to the item of marker information already stored, and reads the downloaded item of content corresponding to the stored identifier, on the basis of the received identical item of marker information.

摘要: It is provided a method for providing an interactive service. At the side of a device among a plurality of devices, each being assigned one of two types, the method comprises the steps of receiving a first request associated with the interactive service requesting for responses associated with the interactive service, wherein the first request includes conditional information associated with the devices; and in response to an input from a user, if said device is of a first type, sending the response; and if said device is of a second type, sending the response only if the device meets the conditional information included in the first request.

摘要: A communication device that transmits notification information to be referred to by a client to request a video to the client, generates the notification information, in which a group of sets is expressed using an identifier common in information pertaining to the group of sets, among a plurality of sets including a first set corresponding to a first plurality of videos having different quality ranks and a second set corresponding to a second plurality of videos having different quality ranks, that has common settings pertaining to a difference between the quality ranks, and information indicating settings, for each group of sets, pertaining to a difference between the quality ranks for a plurality of videos to be transmitted to the client; and transmits the generated notification information to the client.

摘要: A pacing control device to perform pacing control on a content distributed from a content distribution device that performs streaming-based content distribution, includes an obtainer configured to obtain a communication quality threshold that corresponds to a communication environment in the pacing control device; and a controller configured not to make a request for the content to the content distribution device in a case where a communication quality in the pacing control device is lower than the communication quality threshold, and to make the request for the content to the content distribution device in a case where the communication quality is higher than the communication quality threshold.

摘要: A content device and method is disclosed to include a processing device to process streaming video content. A fingerprinter receives captured frames of the streaming video content and, for each frame of a plurality of the captured frames, generates a one-dimensional histogram function of pixel values and transforms the histogram function with a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), to generate a plurality of complex values for the frame. The fingerprinter further, for each of the plurality of complex values, assigns a binary one (“1”) when a real part of the complex value is greater than zero (“0”) and assigns a binary zero (“0”) when the real part is less than or equal to zero, to generate a plurality of bits. The fingerprinter further concatenates a specific number of the bits to generate a fingerprint for the frame.
