摘要: First compressed data is decoded to obtain a representation of an image at a first level of quality which is output for display. In response to a predetermined trigger event, second compressed data is decoded to obtain reconstruction data, and the reconstruction data is used to reconstruct a representation of part of the image at a second, higher level of quality using the representation at the first level of quality. The representation of part of the image is output for display at the second level of quality.

摘要: A method and device for coding and decoding are disclosed. The method includes: dividing a picture to be encoded into several slices, each containing macroblocks continuous in a designated scanning sequence in the picture; dividing slices in the picture into one or more slice sets according to attribute information of the slices, each slice set containing one or more slices; and encoding the slices in the slice sets according to slice and slice set division information to get a coded bit stream of the picture. The decoding method includes: obtaining slice and slice set division information from a bit stream to be decoded and decoding the bit stream according to the obtained slice and slice set division information. The invention improves the performance of video transmission effectively and realizes region based coding. The implementation of coding and decoding is simple and the complexity of coding and decoding systems is reduced.

摘要: Systems and methods may provide for capturing 360 degree video, and multi-resolution encoding, processing and displaying of the video based on a field of view (FOV) and region of interest (ROI) for a viewer. The ROI may be determined based on eye tracking information (ETI) and the video may be encoded for viewports within the FOV at a high resolution and for other viewports outside the FOV at a lower resolution. ROI in the video may be encoded at a high resolution and areas outside of the ROI may be encoded at a lower resolution. The ETI enables the selective display of one or more warnings based on the gaze of a user to improve the efficiency of the warning. 3D glasses having variable lens may be used to adjust the focal distance of a virtual display to match a virtual distance of an object based on stereo distance cues.

摘要: Systems and methods are described for enabling a client device to request video streams with different bit depth remappings for different viewing conditions. In an embodiment, information indicating the availability of additional remapped profiles is sent in a manifest file. Alternative bit-depth remappings may be optimized for different regions of interest in the image or video content, or for different viewing conditions, such as different display technologies and different ambient illumination. Some embodiments based on the DASH protocol perform multiple depth mappings at the encoder and also perform ABR-encoding for distribution. The manifest file contains information indicating additional remapping profiles. The remapping profiles are associated with different transformation functions used to convert from a higher bit-depth to a lower bit-depth.
