摘要： Provided is an information recording medium which achieves high speed conversion of a signal input from external from MPEG-TS to MPEG-PS complying with DVD standard. An apparatus and a method for recording information to the information recording medium are also provided. A constrained format which enables conversion from a first stream (for example, MPEG transport stream) to a second stream (for example, MPEG program stream) is provided. The constrained format defines that a first packet (for example, TS packet) is grouped and managed in multiplexing unit. The first one (AF#8) of complete audio frames in the multiplexing unit (402) is the first one of audio frames in a payload of a second packet (for example, PES packet) (413).

摘要： A method of presenting video frames of a video segment at a non-standard speed is provided. A frame count is set to an initial value. For each video frame that is to be presented, a time offset relative to a staring time within the video segment is generated. The time offset may be generated by multiplying the frame count by two values. The first value is a length of time for which each selected frame is to be presented to the user, and the second value is the presentation rate of the video segment relative to a normal presentation rate. A video frame within the video segment corresponding to the time offset within the video segment is selected and output for presentation. The frame count is then updated, and the process is repeated for the next frame to be presented.

While recording a broadcast program on a storage medium, the apparatus creates an index file regarding random access points of the program. Receiving a request for a jump or trick play operation given in terms of time, the apparatus detects the time interval between each of the random access points based on the created file. Referring to the time interval, the apparatus determines the position to be reached by the jump and begins playback from the position or determines the number of access points to be skipped for the trick play and begins the requested trick play by skipping random access points by the number, thereby providing a user-friendly interface having time-based trick play features.

The SVC file includes: a scalable base track including at least one scalable layer entry each storing metadata of the at least one scalable layer; and at least one sub track generated based on the scalable base track, which includes identification information of the scalable layer that is a basis of generation of a sub track among the scalable layers and identification information of the scalable base track instead of the scalable layer entry. Accordingly, when an SVC coded content is stored as a file, it is possible to reduce a storage capacity by avoiding duplication of common data and to provide convenience when the stored content is reprocessed by allowing a relation of tracks correlated to one another to be represented.
