摘要： A tool comprises a tool body having a bore, a secondary chamber within the tool body, a flow port between the bore and the secondary chamber; a cover component within the bore moveable between at least two positions along the length of the bore, and a control arrangement connected to control movement of the cover component within the bore. The control arrangement comprises a moveable piston and a guide component, one of which has a track and the other has a protruding element received in the track. In a first position, the cover component covers an entrance to the flow port, so that fluid flowing along the bore may not flow into the flow port. In a second position, the cover component does not cover the entrance to the flow port, so that fluid flowing along the bore may flow through the flow port and into the secondary chamber.

摘要： A whipstock comprises a longitudinal axis, a first end and a second end, and a tapering deflection section extending at least part of the way between the first end and the second end. The deflection section has a rear face. The deflection section has a front face, which in use will deflect a milling arrangement in a direction having a component which is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the whipstock. The front face has first and second side edges and a width defined between the first and second side edges. A depth of the deflection section is defined as a distance between the rear face and the front face. At at least one point along the length of the deflection surface, the depth of the deflection section at a distance from the first side edge is greater than the depth of the deflection section at the same distance from the second side edge.

摘要： A cutting tool includes an elongate main body having inlet and outlet ends with a fluid flow path defined therebetween. A piston is mounted within the main body and longitudinally movable with respect to the main body. One or more cutters are moveable between retracted and deployed positions. The piston and each cutter engage one another so that longitudinal movement of the piston with respect to the main body moves each cutter between the deployed position and the retracted position. A flow regulator is operable to divert fluid flowing into the inlet end of the tool selectively along a first path, which passes the through the piston to the outlet end of the tool, and a second path, in which the fluid tends to drive the piston longitudinally with respect to the main body.
