    摘要: The watch comprises an oscillator, a frequency divider, display means capable of displaying at least hours and minutes, and a correction circuit controlled by a rotary time setting stem which is capable of assuming at least two axial positions, one being a rest position which is occupied by the stem when the watch is functioning normally and an operative position for jointly correcting the minutes display and the hours display. The correction circuit is so arranged as to provide for correction of hours display alone in response to a particular rotary movement of the stem in its rest position.This particular rotary movement may comprise, in regard to the stem, rotating at least through a minimum angle in a time interval which is less than a predetermined period, for example at least two revolutions in less than two seconds. The minutes and hours displays are changed and the hours display is corrected in the forward direction or the backward direction depending on the direction of rotation of the stem.

    摘要: The invention relates to a piezo-electric crystal reasonator comprising a tuning fork having two tines, one on each side of an axis of symmetry, having in addition to the excitation electrodes formed on the tines, auxiliary electrodes comprising conductive coatings formed, with the same axis of symmetry, on the same crystal which interconnects the two tines and further relates to a method for making such tuning fork resonator including the detection of asymmetry by applying an excitation voltage to the excitation electrodes to cause the resonator to oscillate, and while it is oscillating, detecting a voltage appearing between the auxiliary electrodes to indicate asymmetrical oscillation of the tines.In addition to excitation electrodes (5, 6, 7) on the tines (2, 3) of the tuning fork, auxiliary conductive electrodes (17, 18, 19, 21) are formed on a part of the resonator which interconnects the two tines. The resonator is then caused to oscillate by applying an excitation voltage to said excitation electrodes and, while it is oscillating, the voltage appearing between the auxiliary electrodes in the event of an asymmetrical oscillation of the tines is detected.Any asymmetry between the two tines can thus be detected and corrected in the course of the manufacture of the tuning fork.

    摘要: An electromagnetic stepping motor has a stator with an armature having the shape of an isosceles trapezoid the base of which is interrupted by a central gap and which is provided with three pole faces. The rotor comprises a permanent magnet. The stator comprises two coils one of which is located between a pole face opposite said gap and one of the other two pole faces. The other coil is located between the pole face opposite said gap and the other of said other two pole faces. When a current passes through the coils, the rotor is subjected to magnetic fields having directions which are oblique to each other and which are symmetrical with respect to a diameter of the rotor. The sense of the coil currents determines the sense of the fields. The arrangement is such that one can create in the zone of the rotor a resultant magnetic field which can extend in any one of four different directions dependent on the sense of the currents passing through the coils. By appropriate commutation of the sense of each of the two coil currents, one can cause the resultant magnetic field to rotate in one direction or in the other, to drive the rotor in one or the other directional sense, but always in the same direction for a given field rotation. Thus, the rotor rotates always in the desired direction, even if a rotational step is missed or if the rotor makes one rotational step too many.

    摘要: The invention provides a very thin electronic watch having a casing with a front wall provided with a glass, a rear wall and a side wall connecting the front and rear walls. In the casing there is a spindle substantially perpendicular to the front and rear walls and mounted pivotally with respect to the casing, a toothed transmission wheel secured to the spindle, a "minutes" disc perpendicularly secured to the spindle and provided with a tooth arrangement on its periphery, and an "hours" disc pivotally mounted on the spindle, substantially parallel to the "minutes" disc and provided with a tooth arrangement on its periphery, the "minutes" and "hours" discs being disposed between the glass and the toothed transmission wheel. The casing further has an electric motor, a supply source, a first gear train engaging the rotor of the electric motor and the "minutes" disc and a second gear train engaging the "hours" disc and the transmission wheel.

    摘要: An electromagnetic stepping motor has a stator with an armature having the shape of an isosceles trapezoid the base of which is interrupted by a central gap and which is provided with three pole faces. The rotor comprises a permanent magnet. The stator comprises two coils one of which is located between a pole face opposite said gap and one of the other two pole faces. The other coil is located between the pole face opposite said gap and the other of said other two pole faces. When a current passes through the coils, the rotor is subjected to magnetic fields having directions which are oblique to each other and which are symmetrical with respect to a diameter of the rotor. The sense of the coil currents determines the sense of the fields. The arrangement is such that one can create in the zone of the rotor a resultant magnetic field which can extend in any one of four different directions dependent on the sense of the currents passing through the coils. By appropriate commutation of the sense of each of the two coil currents, one can cause the resultant magnetic field to rotate in one direction or in the other, to drive the rotor in one or the other directional sense, but always in the same direction for a given field rotation. Thus, the rotor rotates always in the desired direction, even if a rotational step is missed or if the rotor makes one rotational step too many.

    摘要: The maser of the invention is particularly suitable for forming a frequency standard, by virtue of its excellent degree of frequency stability. The stimulating signal injected into a hydrogen maser cavity 10 is phase modulated at a single modulating frequency from a source 34 by a modulator 2. Nevertheless, the envelope detected signal picked off from the cavity and detected by a detector 13 includes two error signal components which respectively represent the difference between the carrier frequency of the injected signal and the frequency of the stimulated emission and the difference between the resonance frequency of the cavity and the said carrier frequency. These components are distinguished by their phases and phase shifters 42 and 44 and bring them respectively into phase with the modulating signal for detection in detectors 23 and 33 whose integrated outputs are used to control the oscillator 1 (and hence the said carrier frequency) and the cavity tuning respectively.

    摘要: Reduces the consumption of an electronic time piece equipped with a motor 4 driving a display unit 5. A quartz oscillator 1 feeds a supply circuit 3 through a frequency divider 2. The supply circuit 3 of the motor and its control circuit 9 periodically decrease the pulse energy supplied to the motor in response to a reference signal 8.2 provided by a reference counter say every 60 seconds. The energy then supplied to the motor is regulated as a function of the presence or absence of a signal delivered by a detection switch 7 operated by the display unit. If the detection switch does not close, compensating pulses are fed to the motor to catch up the lost seconds and the pulse energy is stepped up.

    摘要: Electro-optic passive display cell constituted by a layer of a mixture of a nematic liquid crystal having a positive dielectric anisotropy, an optically active compound and dichroic molecules. The inner faces of the plates of the cell are covered with alignment layers such that, in the area situated outside the display zones or segments, the layer of the mixture has a homeotropic structure in its whole thickness. Opposite the segments the cell is arranged in such a way that the layer of the mixture has a helicoidal structure so that incident light is absorbed in these zones when the segments are not activated and that the layer of the mixture is orientated according to a homeotropic structure under the action of an electric field. Thus, when the cell is at rest, all its segments are visible. The display is effected by "cancelling" or "effacing" the segments which must not appear, so that only the non activated segments remaining visible in dark on a clear or transparent background.

    摘要: A resilient member for connecting a crystal to a watch casing in which the crystal is used for generating acoustic signals. The member is of generally annular configuration with an inner portion rigidly connected to the circumference of the crystal, an outer peripheral portion connected to a supporting member of the watch casing, and a free portion extending between the inner portion and the outer peripheral portion. The free portion has a width and a thickness which permits flexing in a direction normal to the plane of the crystal so that the crystal can vibrate in a direction normal to its plane and act as an acoustical transmitting member.
