摘要: A method for determining usage of a mobile device in a vehicle by a user includes receiving a first value indicating an “off” state of a screen at a first time, operating at least one sensor of the mobile device to obtain first movement measurements, and classifying the first movements as usage movements. The method also includes generating an indication of mobile device usage, receiving a second value indicating an “on” state of the screen at a second time, operating the at least one sensor to obtain second movement measurements, and classifying the second movements as usage movements or non-usage movements. The method further includes maintaining the indication of mobile device usage in response to the second movements being classified as usage movements or changing the indication of mobile device usage to an indication of mobile device non-usage in response to the second movements being classified as non-usage movements.

The processor is configured to perform operations including: operating the plurality of sensors to collect driving data; receiving the driving data collected over a plurality of time intervals from at least one of the plurality of sensors in the mobile device of a user during a trip in a vehicle, assigning the driving data to the trip; receiving input indicating the trip is associated with an accident, wherein the input includes additional data associated with the accident; transmitting the driving data assigned to the trip associated with the accident; and transmitting the additional data associated with the accident.

摘要: According to some embodiments of the invention, movement measurements may be obtained from a movement sensor (e.g., an accelerometer) of a mobile device in a vehicle. In addition, location measurements may be obtained from a location sensor (e.g., a GPS) of the mobile device in the vehicle. The movement measurements and the location measurements may be cross-referenced to each other to remove erroneous measurements, such as physically impossible measurements. The remaining measurements may be used to draw conclusions about the movements or locations, such as to identify a movement event (e.g., a braking event, an acceleration event, or the like).

The data processing block is also configured to classify the mode of transportation during the trip and update the classifiers based on user input.

摘要: A method of determining vehicle entry information for a user includes obtaining a yaw measurement using a mobile device, determining, using a processor, a first time span associated with a user entering a vehicle, and determining, using the processor, a second time span associated with a user exiting the vehicle. The method also includes determining that a change in magnitude over a portion of the yaw measurement is greater than a predetermined threshold over at least one of the first time span or the second time span and determining an angular change of the yaw measurement over the predetermined threshold. The method further includes associating right hand entry with the vehicle entry information if the angular orientation of the yaw measurement is clockwise and associating left hand entry with the vehicle entry information if the angular orientation of the yaw measurement is counter-clockwise.
