摘要: An access server can be configured to receive an open lock request from a radio frequency identification (RFID) lock that is provided in response to a holder of an RFID badge positioning the RFID badge near the RFID lock. The open lock request can include a unique identifier (ID) assigned to the RFID badge. The access server can also be configured to retrieve a user record based on the unique ID of the RFID badge to determine a secondary device ID. The access server can further be configured to determine whether the secondary device ID is present in a wireless device list that characterizes a list of wireless devices communicating with a wireless network physically encompassing the RFID lock.

摘要: An intelligent system for choosing selection schemes to be tried in a predetermined order for determining the location of a wireless mobile client, including retrieving a last known position record from a cache, checking serving network capability, choosing an initial selection scheme according to parameters including at least the required response time and the requested location method, including a method employing navigational satellites, attempting to retrieve a current position record, trying successive untried selection schemes in turn according to a predetermined algorithm if no current position record has been retrieved, and returning the current position record and updating the last known position record, or returning an error if no current position record has been retrieved, and returning the last known position record if an error has been returned, the last known position record exists in the cache and the last known position record has not expired.

摘要: A Short Message Serving System (SMSC) can be configured to determine a format of a short service message (SMS) message with a read acknowledgement request. The SMSC can also be configured to generate a Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) multi-segment short message that includes user data from the SMS message and comprises a plurality of ordered segments. The GSM multi-segment short message can include a read acknowledgement request.

摘要: Methods for dynamically varying label density and label placement on a map display used in mapping and/or navigation solutions. Label density and label placement on a map display are adjusted dynamically based on: a function class of a road being navigated, a function class of a road to be navigated following an upcoming maneuver, a distance to an upcoming maneuver, and/or a speed a device receiving mapping/navigation services is travelling.

摘要: Secure storage of important/relevant information on a device and/or internet cloud is facilitated, and enables automatic transmission of that important/relevant information when certain user-defined criteria are met, e.g., when 911 is dialed on a corresponding subscriber device. A baseline data collection and maintenance interface enables a subscriber to provision important/relevant information (e.g. medical/emergency information) authorized for transmittal, intended recipients of data (e.g. emergency personnel), and one or more information exchange events (e.g., dialing 911 on a corresponding subscriber device), in to a subscriber information database. A trigger monitoring server monitors a subscriber device for the occurrence of one or more information exchange events defined in an affiliated subscriber information database. The trigger monitoring server accesses a relevant subscriber information database to dynamically facilitate stored subscriber information to one or more predetermined data recipients, each instance an information exchange event is detected on a corresponding subscriber device.

摘要: A technique and apparatus to provide status tracking of presence and/or location of wireless devices to requesting entities inside and/or outside a particular wireless system. Presence and/or location information is provided to entities outside a particular servicing wireless network via mechanisms of call processing components of a mobile network and standard mechanisms available to any appropriately conforming MSC element. In one embodiment, a wireless chat automatic status tracking system utilizes a change in mobile registration status to automatically forward or copy a registration notification (REGNOT) message to an external IP application, to notify a chat group system outside the wireless network of current status information activity regarding a relevant device. Change in mobile registration is communicated via a suitable signaling link between a HLR and the chat group system. REGNOT messages are pushed over TCP/IP connections to external applications to automatically notify the external system of a particular user's location.
