摘要: A downhole flow control device is used to control the production of formation fluids while using flow of the formation fluids to drive a turbine. Flow through a turbine chamber is optimized using a chamber insert that cooperatively defines a reduced chamber volume with the turbine chamber. The chamber insert includes an overhead portion defining a ceiling over the turbine and an arcuate portion contiguous with an arcuate portion of the turbine chamber. The baffle is perforated to allow some flow to exit the reduced chamber volume to a bypass port in a cavity radially outwardly thereof. The turbine may be used for any suitable downhole application, such as an inflow control device or to generate electrical power.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to an earth-boring drill bit including a shank, an internal region formed from at least a first alloy using additive manufacturing and secured to the shank, and an exterior region formed from at least a second alloy using additive manufacturing and secured to the internal region using additive manufacturing. The first alloy and the second alloy have a different modulus of elasticity, yield strength, resilience, ductility, hardness, fracture toughness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, or erosion resistance. The disclosure further includes a method of manufacturing such an earth-boring drill by depositing a plurality of layers according to a drill bit specification using additive manufacturing.

The method may include inserting a formation testing tool into a wellbore to a first location within the wellbore based at least in part on a figure of merit. The formation testing tool may include at least one probe, a pump disposed within the formation testing tool and connect to the at least one probe by at least one probe channel and at least one fluid passageway, and at least one stabilizer disposed on the formation testing tool. The method may further include activating the at least one stabilizer, wherein the at least one stabilizer is activated into a surface of the wellbore and performing the pressure test and determining at least one formation property from the pressure test.

摘要: Electromagnetic logging tools are optimized using synthetic logs for the purpose of pre-job planning and accuracy/resolution estimation. One, two and three-dimensional forward modeling are used to generate accurate inspection tool responses. A radial one-dimensional (R1D) electromagnetic forward model is also used to compute an approximate log. By constructing non-linear mapping functions between the R1D model-based log and the 2D model-based log, and mapping the R1D synthetic log using the non-linear mapping functions, a quasi 2D log is computed. The quasi 2D log is processed using model-based inversion, thereby providing estimates of pipe parameters. By analyzing the estimates of pipe parameters, tool performance metrics are obtained and analyze to determine the performance of the tool. The tool parameters are adjusted in order to optimize the performance metrics.

摘要: Improved systematic inversion methodology applied to formation testing data interpretation with spherical, radial and/or cylindrical flow models is disclosed. A method of determining a parameter of a formation of interest at a desired location comprises directing a formation tester to the desired location in the formation of interest and obtaining data from the desired location in the formation of interest. The obtained data relates to a first parameter at the desired location of the formation of interest. The obtained data is regressed to determine a second parameter at the desired location of the formation of interest. Regressing the obtained data comprises using a method selected from a group consisting of a deterministic approach, a probabilistic approach, and an evolutionary approach.

摘要: A method of designing a cement slurry may include: (a) selecting a target permeability and a density requirement; (b) inputting the target permeability into a permeability model and generating a proposed cement composition using the permeability model, wherein the proposed cement composition comprises at least a cement and concentration thereof, and a water and concentration thereof such that a cement slurry formed from the proposed cement composition water meet the density requirement; (c) preparing the cement slurry based on the proposed cement composition; and (d) introducing the cement slurry into a wellbore and allowing the cement slurry to set to form a hardened cement.
