    摘要: A top-loaded rotary valve with elliptical sealing is provided. The valve includes a valve cartridge with a lower cylinder portion having a first flow opening, an upper cylinder portion having a second flow opening, a rotor, and a gasket positioned between respective ends of the lower cylinder portion and the upper cylinder portion. The rotor includes a stem and a disc configured to rotate within the cartridge. The lower cylinder portion and the upper cylinder portion are mated to the gasket along a plane that defines an ellipse along the respective cylinder ends. The disc has perimeter that is similar to the ellipse, and the rotor rotates between a closed position in which the elliptical perimeter of the disc is coincident with the gasket to prevent flow between the flow openings and an open position that permits flow between the flow openings.

    摘要: An endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) bronchoscope is configured as a single-use (e.g., disposable) device. The bronchoscope includes an insertion tube having a proximal section adjacent the handle and a distal tip. An ultrasound transducer assembly is located at the distal tip. The ultrasound transducer assembly includes an ultrasound transducer array, transmit-and-receive circuitry for the ultrasound transducer array, and a flexible interconnection between the ultrasound transducer array and the transmit-and-receive circuitry. The insertion tube further includes an imaging lumen including one or more power cables and one or more communication wires that extend from the ultrasound transducer assembly through the proximal section and a working channel that is separate from the imaging lumen.

    摘要: A test sample handling system for transporting test samples to a testing mechanism comprises a rotary sample holder including a carrier cylinder configured to rotate about a central rotational axis thereof and a carrier arm adjustable between a retracted position and an extended position. A carrier is configured to support one of the test samples and is removably coupled to the carrier cylinder. A lifter mechanism is adjustable between a lowered position and a raised position with the adjustment of the carrier arm from the retracted position to the extended position including a decoupling of the carrier from the carrier cylinder and a transporting of the carrier and the corresponding one of the samples to a position above the lifter mechanism. An adjustment of the lifter mechanism from the lowered position to the raised position includes a removal of the one of the samples from being supported by the carrier.
