    Abstract: A method for manufacturing and filling a composite can (201), the method comprising: —forming a tubular body (203) by bending a body blank (16) and bringing two opposing edges of the body blank (16) together in an end-to-end join; —sealing the join by welding a sealing strip (214) over the join, thereby forming an intermediate can (403; 503); —sealing a top opening (211) by attaching a top sealing member (227) across the top opening (211); —applying a top rim (223) to the intermediate can (403; 503) by welding an inserted part of the top rim (223) to the inner surface of the tubular body (203); —turning the intermediate can (403; 503) upside-down and placing the intermediate can (403; 503) on a conveyor (2a) with the top rim (223) resting on the conveyor (2a); filling the intermediate can (403; 503) through the bottom opening (213); —sealing the bottom opening (213) of the tubular body (203) by attaching a bottom sealing member (215) across the bottom opening (213); —turning the intermediate can (403; 503) to bring the top rim (223) in an upward-facing position; —attaching a reclosable lid (221) at the top end of the tubular body (203). The intermediate can is kept in a protective gas atmosphere from said filling of said intermediate can until said bottom opening (213) of said tubular body (203) has been sealed. An assembly line (1) for manufacturing and filling of composite cans (201) is also disclosed.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a transfer plate for a container element. The transfer plate extends in a first direction and a second direction being perpendicular to each other. The transfer plate comprises a cavity portion comprising at least one through-going first cavity adapted to receive and hold the container element, the first cavity having a first open area. The transfer plate further comprises a cover portion being at least as large as, or substantially as large as, the first open area.
    The disclosure further relates to an attachment unit for attaching a container element to a container body and to an apparatus for attaching container elements to container bodies in a flow of containers. In addition the disclosure relates to a method of attaching a container element to a container body by means of the attachment unit.

    Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to a laminate membrane for sealing an inner compartment in a packaging container comprising a top member and a bottom member. The top and bottom members are laminated sheet materials. The top member has a thickness, a top member first surface and a top member second surface facing the bottom member. The bottom member has a bottom member first surface facing the top member second surface and a bottom member second surface. The laminate membrane is provided with a valve for allowing gas in the inner compartment of the packaging container to exit therefrom. The valve has a valve outer edge and is arranged on the bottom member first surface. The valve is arranged within an opening in the top member such that an opening edge encircles the valve. A surface area of the opening is greater than a surface area of the valve.

    Abstract: A packaging container (1, 201) comprising a container body (2, 202) having a bottom end (4, 204) and a top end (5, 205) and a tubular container wall (3, 203) extending between the bottom end and the top end. The packaging container(1, 201) is closed at the bottom end (4, 204) by a base disc (9, 209) which is attached by welding to the inner surface (7, 207) of the container body (2, 202) at the bottom end (4, 204) of the container body. The container body comprises a laminate body sheet material (12) comprising a carton layer (12a), a metallic foil layer (12b) and an inner thermoplastic polymeric layer (12c). The top end closure comprises an openable inner sealing member (33, 233) which is attached by welding to the inner surface (7, 207) of the container body (2, 202) at a distance from the top end (5, 205) of the container body (2, 202), the inner sealing member (33, 233) comprising a first laminate sealing member sheet material (244′) comprising a structural layer (244a) and a thermoplastic welding layer (244b) and a second laminate sealing member sheet material (244″) comprising a metallic foil layer (244a″) and a thermoplastic welding layer (244″b), the second laminate sealing member sheet material (244″) being joined to the first laminate sealing member sheet material (244′) by welding. The structural layer (244a) of the first laminate sealing member sheet material (244) is a metallic foil layer having a thickness of from 5 micrometer to 10 micrometer, such as from 5.5 micrometer to 9 micrometer.

    Abstract: A method of forming a paperboard packaging container from a rectangular body blank is disclosed, the method including the following steps: a) providing a rectangular body blank made from a laminate sheet material; b) forming a tubular container body from the rectangular body blank, the container body having a first end with a first body opening and a second end with a second body opening; c) sealing together the first and the second side edge in a but-to-but seal using a sealing strip having a sealing strip width; d) presenting the tubular container body to a crease line forming station; e) closing the second body opening by pressing a paperboard disc into the second body opening; f) forming a curled second edge by folding or rolling the second end of the container body wall inwardly; g) filling the packaging container with bulk solids; and h) closing the first body opening.
