Abstract:
The invention pertains to methods and systems for securing fish bait without killing, injuring, or damaging the structure of the fish bait without obscuring the bait or lure while improving the chances of catching a nearby fish. All types of bait or lures are secured by a mesh pouch in close proximity to a fish hook. The fishing hook may remain outside of the mesh pouch or be assembled inside the mesh pouch along with the bait. The bait may be live, previously live, artificial, or prepared such as cut bait or dough balls. There is no penetration of the bait by the hook so live bait tends to stay alive and active or if it is prepared, it will tend to stay in tack.
Abstract:
A subframe configuration for a retrofit roof includes a subframe connected to the upper surface of a rib on an existing roof. The subframe is also connected to the valley/purlin of the existing roof. The connection can be a mechanical interference connection or one that is formed by a mechanical connector. The subframe of the disclosure includes a rib flange that extends from the bottom of the lip. The rib flange is disposed substantially parallel to the base of the subframe. When installed, a connector extends through the rib flange into a rib of the existing roof. Rib flange can be continuous or provided only at each or just some of the ribs.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an improved reel assembly for use in conjunction with an occupant restraint system. The assembly employs a dual locking arrangement whereby an occupant can be restrained during both major and minor incidents. After a major incident, the reel assembly remains locked until the occupant disengages the reel via a push button. After a minor incident, the reel assembly can be conveniently unlocked, without the need for accessing the push button, by applying counter tension to the webbing.
Abstract:
A ceiling suspension system has support members that are interconnected to support ceiling panels. The ceiling suspension system is suspended from a building. Each of the support members has a lower surface that is patterned and different in textural appearance than other portions of the support members to define patterned lower surfaces. For example, the patterned lower surfaces may have non-smooth textures that are uniform and symmetrical, or non-uniform and irregular. The patterned lower surfaces may have three-dimensional features such as lines, slots, dimples, protrusions, peaks and valleys and/or cross-hatching, which may be roll-formed on capping on the support members.
Abstract:
A system and method for protecting account holders against fraudulent transactions by receiving authorization criteria, wherein the authorization criteria relates to one or more characteristics associated with financial transactions that involve an account in a financial institution; receiving incoming transaction data wherein the incoming transaction data is associated with an underlying financial transaction involving the account; identifying the one or more characteristics associated with the incoming transaction relating to the authorization criteria received; identifying prior transactions with one or more characteristics corresponding with the identified one or more characteristics associated with the incoming transaction data; comparing the incoming transaction data with the authorization criteria; suspending the underlying transaction associated with the incoming transaction data if the authorization criteria is not satisfied; transmitting notification of the suspension to the account holder associated with the suspended underlying transaction data through a first communication method, wherein the transmitted notification includes a unique item of information; and permitting the suspended underlying transaction to proceed if the unique item of information is received through a second communication method.
Abstract:
A system operated by a non-bank financial institution (NBFI) for receiving and processing payments made by renters to property management companies, and method of use therefor, are disclosed. The NBFI provides an electronic payment platform for accepting payments from renters of one or more rental communities owned or managed by one or more property management companies. The NBFI platform processes and directs rental payment to the payment processing systems of a partner bank or other financial institution which has bank accounts owned by the rental communities or property management companies. The partner bank directs the renters' payments into the appropriate account after processing. The NBFI creates and maintains records of all such transactions which are received through its platform, and provides the partner bank and rental communities with access to records in standardized format, such as a format compatible with existing property management or bank software, including any processing and convenience fee information.
Abstract:
The RF power passing through a given position in a monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) is determined using the Seebeck effect. The MMIC includes at least certain components of a voltage creating circuit, including a first Seebeck junction on the MMIC at a given position and a second Seebeck junction at a different position. The voltage generated between the two junctions as a result of differential heating caused by the passage of RF power through the given position is measured with a voltmeter. By calibration, the RF power is related to a measured Seebeck voltage created when the circuit is in operation and hence can be determined. The Seebeck circuitry may be independent of the MMIC circuitry or be integrated into the active circuitry of the MMIC itself.
Abstract:
Thermosetting polymers and the electrical laminates made therefrom are disclosed. The polymer comprises the cross-linked product of: a) one or more ethylenically unsaturated aromatic monomers, optionally containing a halogenated monomer to impart fire retardation, and b) a vinyl-terminated polybutadiene or butadiene-styrene copolymer containing either a urethane or an ester group. It has been discovered that an unexpected combination of thermal, electrical, and mechanical properties are obtained from the composition recited herein. The composition is ideally suited as a matrix polymer for electrical substrate applications.
Abstract:
In one example, we describe a method and system for displaying the Printing Preferences UI and graphical user interface and for the dynamic multilingual print driver. In one example, the system determines the language of the currently-logged-in user. In one example, the system determines the supported language that most closely matches the user's language. If unable to match, it uses the system's default language that was set during the initial installation. If that is not available, then it uses English as the language and declares an error (for the user or administrator), because the system has got a corrupted installation. Other details and variations are also presented here.
Abstract:
An optical fibre is secured to an electronic package (10) by, firstly, providing in a wall (14) of the package (10) an electrically conductive tube (12), an inductance arrangement (16–22) in magnetically co-operational relation to the tube (12) and a securing agent inside the tube, then secondly inserting the fibre into the tube (12) and passing an RF current through the inductance arrangement (16). The current is such as to melt the securing agent and, when the securing agent is allowed to cool, a bond is formed between the fibre and the tube (12). The package (10) is preferably an LTCC mulilayer package with the inductance (16) being formed in adjacent layers and the tube (12) is preferably composed of a metallic ink which is applied to a stepwise-circular cylindrical cavity likewise formed in adjacent layers.
