摘要: A system for monitoring incontinence in one or more subjects comprises display means; input means operable by a user; one or more transmitters, each transmitter being associated with one or more subjects being monitored; the one or more transmitters being configured to transmit signals containing continence-related data for the one or more subjects, wherein the continence-related data has been obtained over time from a continence sensor associated with an absorbent article worn by each respective subject; a receiver unit configured to receive signals from the one or more transmitters; and processing means in communication with at least the receiver unit, the processing means including a display processor configured to process the received signals and communicate display information to the display means for display of a visual representation of continence-related information derived from continence sensors in the absorbent articles worn by the one or more subjects being monitored. The system may include a volume estimator and means for communicating to a carer a ‘risk of wetness leakage’ based on e.g. an estimated volume of wetness and e.g. a pad type. Pad type may be communicated to the system automatically by way of a pad type indicator associated with the pad and/or pad/sensor combination.

摘要: Aerosol detection apparatus comprises an aircraft having a dielectric member, such as a window (10), comprised in the body (12) thereof such that a surface of the dielectric member forms part of the exterior surface of the aircraft. Detection means (16), such as a static monitor is located on the inside of the aircraft and arranged to detect an electric field resulting from polarization of the dielectric member. The output of the static monitor, or the rate of change thereof, correlates closely to particle density as the aircraft is flown though an aerosol, such as a volcanic ash cloud. The apparatus is simple and relatively inexpensive, and may comprise any general purpose aircraft. Aerosol particles may be detected and mapped using apparatus of the invention more easily and quickly than by use of devices such as optical spectrometers mounted on dedicated research aircraft, or static monitors mounted on the exterior of an aircraft.

摘要: In one embodiment, a translator quality assurance system may rate a translation using a mapping chart. A data interface 150 may access a translation dictionary matching a source language to a target language. A processor 120 may map automatically a sentence pair having a source sentence 310 in a source language and a target sentence 320 in a target language at a linguistic level using the translation dictionary. A user output device 170 may display a translation quality report of the target sentence 320.

摘要: Methods of making nonwoven mats having good strength after being scored and folded and particularly useful in making lightweight, compressible ceiling panels are disclosed. The mats also have excellent flame resistance. The mats include a blend comprising a major portion of glass fibers and a minor portion of man-made polymer fibers, the fibers being bound together with a cured binder containing a homopolymer or copolymer of polyacrylic acid and a polyol. The binder bonding the mat together can be cured to only a “B” stage to produce thermoformable mats or more fully cured to produce mats having the properties described above.
