摘要： A telephone service panel includes a panel base assembly having multiple subscriber modules each having a test receptacle connected to an incoming line, and each having a set of subscriber terminals for connection to a local subscriber circuit; access to each receptacle is blocked by an individual subscriber-controlled padlocked cover; a composite cover over all the test receptacles consists essentially of a spine carrying the padlocked covers and locked to the panel base assembly, but releasable by service personnel for access to all the subscriber modules. So long as the test receptacle is empty, each subscriber circuit is connected to its incoming line; to disconnect the subscriber circuit from the incoming line, it is only necessary to insert the plug of a test device into the test receptacle; insertion of the plug also connects the test device to the incoming line. When a local subscriber circuit is to be connected to the panel, it is unnecessary to release the composite cover; it is sufficient to release one of the covers to gain access to a set of subscriber terminals.

摘要： A movable contact is adapted to engage with and disengage from a fixed contact within a circuit breaker housing. A contact arm, coupled to the movable contact, is caused to trip when appropriate means are actuated. The invention resides in apparatus for actuating such means including a ferromagnetic material armature latch partially rotatable about a housing axis. The latch has a first retaining means and a first coupling surface. A latch member, partially rotatable about a housing axis, has a second retaining means and a second coupling surface adapted to couple with the first coupling surface. Further, the latch member is adapted to recouple the second coupling surface subsequent to it becoming uncoupled from the first coupling surface. A spring couples the two retaining means. An electrical circuit, including the contacts, is responsive to an overload current through the circuit breaker for causing the armature latch to partially rotate, uncoupling the two coupling surfaces, whereupon the spring causes the latch member to rotate with an impetus, actuating the coupled means, thereby tripping the contact arm and opening the contacts.

摘要： The disclosed connectors include a paired-prong type of terminal which initially supports a plastic-insulated wire across the ends of the prongs at a gap. A driver initially forms incisions in the insulation at opposite sides of the wire. Further operation of the driver forces the wire into the gap, baring areas of the wire at the incisions and then making contact. The terminals are formed of metal strip, first making a slit along an end portion of the strip to form a pair of prongs and then coining a depression in opposed edges of the slit roughly halfway along the slit while confining the prongs against separation more than a prescribed gap distance.

摘要： Two forms of insulation-displacement connection devices and panels of such devices are disclosed; the connection devices of each of the panels include upstanding connectors bent to provide paired wire-gripping finger portions in a plane parallel to the related panel. Each form of the connecting devices includes a rotor operable about an axis perpendicular to the related panel, the rotor being arranged to drive upstanding inserted wires broadside--parallel to the rotor's axis--from starting positions opposite to the ends of the pairs of wire-gripping finger portions to end positions gripped between the wire-gripping finger portions. The wire's insulation is displaced and the center conductor of the wire is bared locally as the wire is forced between the wire-gripping finger portions. In both embodiments, there are two pairs of wire-gripping finger portions, at opposite sides of the rotor's axis. The free ends of the wire-gripping portions are pre-biased toward each other, for augmenting the insulation-displacement forces of the paired wire-gripping finger portions.

摘要： So-called lay-in connectors include a body or first member having a base portion and side walls, and a screw-bearing second member.
