Abstract:
An operating modes selector is for an earthing switch that includes power contacts and a motor for moving the power contacts. The selector includes a plurality of positions corresponding respectively to various operating modes of the earthing switch, and includes cams whose positions are defined by the selector position. The selector contains a first cam which pulls a first locking organ designed to mechanically block the motor of the earthing switch when the selector is in a position corresponding to a locked closed mode wherein the earthing switch is closed.
Abstract:
A transfer switch including a lockout-tagout assembly and lockout-tagout method are provided. An example method includes a latch of a transfer switch actuating a first switch, wherein actuating the first switch sends an inhibit signal to an electronic controller of the transfer switch. The example method further includes the latch actuating a second switch, wherein actuating the second switch opens operator cutoff thereby preventing function of an operator assembly of the transfer switch. Still further, the example method includes, after the latch actuating the first switch and the second switch, locking the latch so as to mechanically prevent the source contact from closing.
Abstract:
A breaker actuator includes a slide plate, at least one actuator lever, and a drive plate. The slide plate is linearly movable. The actuator lever is rotatable about a pivot. The actuator lever engages the slide plate and rotational movement of the actuator lever is actuatable by linear movement of the slide plate. The drive plate is moveable between an off position and an on position and is actuatable by rotational motion of the at least one actuator lever. A method for actuating a breaker includes moving a slide plate linearly from a first position to a second position, rotating at least one actuator lever about a pivot from a first position to a second position by the linear movement of the slide plate, and moving a drive plate in front of an electrical breaker from an off position to an on position by the rotational motion of the actuator lever.
Abstract:
An operating mechanism is provided for an electrical enclosure. The operating mechanism includes a switch operator, and a housing to house the switch operator. The switch operator includes a portion which extends through one of one or more holes in the electrical enclosure, and can be manipulated by an external handle to operate an electrical switching device, such as a circuit breaker, that is housed in the electrical enclosure. The housing includes a cavity to house and protect an external antenna or other electrical device, which is connectable to an electrical cable that extends from the cavity into an interior of the electrical enclosure via the hole(s). The electrical cable can be connected to a monitoring system inside of the electrical enclosure. The housing is mountable onto an exterior surface of a wall of the electrical enclosure to cover the hole(s).
Abstract:
An electrical circuit switching device includes a housing body including therein a circuit breaker for breaking/energizing an electrical circuit, and a housing door including a handle for operating the circuit breaker. A switch operating unit for driving a circuit switching unit of the circuit breaker includes a lock that can engage/disengage with/from a coupling part of the handle. The coupling part engages with the lock when the housing door is closed, and the circuit breaker can be operated only in this state via the coupling part.
Abstract:
A generator coupling kit is provided. In exemplary embodiments, the generator coupling kit may comprise a wire adapted to couple with a generator on a first end, the wire adapted to couple with an outdoor box on a second end; the outdoor box adapted to couple with the wire; an indoor electrical panel adapted to couple with the outdoor box via a generator breaker; and the generator breaker adapted to couple with indoor electrical panel, the generator breaker adapted to couple with the outdoor box via internal wiring, the generator breaker comprising a circuit breaker.
Abstract:
Exemplary embodiments are directed to a switching device for an electric circuit including at least one contact movable between a closed position in which it is coupled to a corresponding fixed contact and an open position in which it is spaced away from said corresponding fixed contact. The switching device including at least one locking device configured for being actuated between a rest configuration in which said at least one movable contact is free to move and an operative configuration in which it locks said at least one movable contact in the open position. The locking device is configured for outputting one or more electrical signals which are indicative of at least one of the rest configuration, the operative configuration, and an under actuation condition wherein the locking device itself is moving between said rest and operative configurations.
Abstract:
An interlock assembly comprising: an interlock plate comprising at least one slot disposed about a central portion thereof, a first locking tab disposed perpendicular to a first side of the interlock plate, and a second locking tab disposed perpendicular to a second side of the interlock plate; and a base disposed adjacent to a bottom surface of the interlock plate, the base comprising at least one perturbation disposed on a surface of the base opposite to the bottom surface of the interlock plate, such that the perturbation is disposed within the slot of the interlock plate, thereby providing the interlock plate with reciprocating movement in relation to the base.
Abstract:
An electric switch which can be locked using any possible lock to either prevent or ensure the flow of electric power to an electrical apparatus. The switch has a toggle-handle that a bar from a lock can be fitted into and immobilize the toggle-contactor, preventing the toggle from being moved. Thus the switch is prevented from being turned on or turned off. The switch is intended to be placed into a power cord and can be sold with a device or added later.
