摘要: Certain embodiments described herein are directed to reflectron assemblies and methods of producing them. In some configurations, a reflectron comprising a plurality of lenses each comprising a planar body and comprising a plurality of separate and individual conductors spanning a central aperture from a first side to a second side of a first surface of the planar body is described. In some instances, the plurality of conductors are each substantially parallel to each other and are positioned in the same plane.

摘要: A system and method for accumulation of media invention includes a series of upper and lower transport belts for feeding media seriatim along a path of travel. An accumulator pocket is positioned between the upper and lower drive belts along the path of travel. An upper and a lower accumulator ramp is positioned adjacent the accumulator pocket are moveable between a first position and a second position. The first accumulator ramp position is such that the lower ramp is positioned to engage media moved seriatim along the path of travel to guide the media to form a forward accumulation of media in the accumulator pocket. The upper accumulator ramp second position is such that the upper accumulator ramp is positioned to engage media moved seriatim along the path of travel to guide the media to form a reverse accumulation of media in the accumulator pocket. One or more rollers can be mounted to cooperate with the lower accumulator ramp and one or more rollers can be mounted to cooperate with the upper accumulator ramp to reduce forces which would tend to cause previously assembled media collations to shear apart during transport into the accumulator pocket. The upper and lower accumulator ramps may also be positioned to enable transport of media through the system without the accumulation of media in the accumulation pocket.

摘要: Certain embodiments described herein are directed to time of flight tubes comprising a cylindrical tube comprising an inner surface and an outer surface, the cylindrical tube comprising an effective thickness and sized and arranged to couple to and support a reflectron assembly inside the cylindrical tube. In some configurations, the cylindrical tube further comprises a conductive material disposed on the inner surface of the cylindrical tube, the conductive material present in an effective amount to provide a field free region for ions when the conductive material is charged.

摘要: A system detects a man overboard and facilitates the rescue of the overboard individual. The system includes sensors that provide surveillance of a peripheral envelope of a boat to detect when an individual fall through the envelope. When an individual is detected falling through the peripheral envelope, an alarm is sounded and a floatation device is dispensed into the water.
