摘要: An automated blocking technique is used as a first step to find approximate matches in a database. The technique builds a blocking set to be as liberal as possible in retrieving records that match on individual fields or sets of fields while avoiding selection criteria that are predicted to return more than the maximum number of records defining a particular special requirement. The ability to do blocking without extensive manual setup at low cost is highly advantageous especially when using a machine learning based second-stage matching algorithm.

摘要: The invention concerns a method (300) and system (100) for exchanging data in a multi-core architecture having at least one shared memory (114). The method can include the steps of requesting (312) data in a first format from a predetermined range of addresses in the shared memory in which the data is shared between different processors, storing (316) the requested data in a cache (118) to be retrieved by a format converter (120) and identifying (320) to the format converter a data type for the data. The method can also include the step of, with the format converter, translating (322) based on predetermined rules the data to a second format that is native to a processor (110) that will process the data.

摘要: A method and apparatus for entering a low power mode is provided. In one embodiment, data processing system (10) has power control circuitry (52) which may be used to control power usage in data processing system (10). Power mode select circuitry (84) may be used to select a power mode. Depending upon the power mode selected, power control circuitry (52) may use a cascaded approach to selecting which portions of data processing system (10) will be powered down, and thus how deeply data processing system (10) will be powered down.

摘要: A biomedical pressure sensor having a pressure sensing diaphragm is provided with a distensible membrane overlying the diaphragm, and the diaphragm is provided with one or more holes. During normal operation, externally applied pressure forces the membrane against the diaphragm so that the membrane and diaphragm deform under pressure as a unit and transmit pressure-applied forces to a force transducer within the probe housing. When a reference pressure exceeding the externally applied pressure is supplied within the probe housing, such reference pressure passes through the hole in the diaphragm and forces the membrane away from the diaphragm, thereby isolating the diaphragm from the externally applied pressure and bringing the diaphragm to a zero-differential pressure condition. Use of a hole in the diaphragm permits an extremely compact construction.
