摘要： An infusion container for use with a brewer. The infusion container includes a body portion defining at least a portion of a cavity therein. At least a portion of the body being liquid permeable. The infusion container liquid permeable portion facilitates brewing a beverage by allowing water to pass through the infusion container. The infusion container may be an individual structure which can be placed in and removed from the holder. Additional components or group of components for use with the beverage holder. The infusion container provides structures and methods facilitating convenient use of a brewer which allows the user to use the type of substance and quantity of substance of their choice and efficiently clean the substance holder.

摘要： Disclosed is a container for containing a beverage and a grommet for use with a container, and a method of retaining liquid in a container and preventing reverse flow out of the container. The container is of the type for retaining a quantity of beverage including at least one wall containing a cavity therein, a rim defining a mouth, and a lid extending at least partially over the mouth. A valve port is provided in the lid. A grommet is provided for retention in the valve port including a flange and structures for retaining the grommet in the valve port. The grommet defines an aperture extending therethrough which communicates with the valve port. The beverage is passed through the aperture and valve port for retention in the cavity of the container. A tongue extends from the grommet into the valve port for movably blocking a portion of the valve port. The tongue is movably displaced as beverage is dispensed into the container and is positioned over a portion of the valve port for preventing reverse flow of beverage from the container out through the valve port.

摘要： An automatic beverage brewing apparatus which includes a brew chamber having an inlet and an outlet and a water distribution system associated with the brew chamber for introducing brew water and flush water. A filter assembly is disposed in the brew chamber and has an opening formed therethrough for communicating with the outlet of the brew chamber. A piston assembly disposed in the brew chamber including a spool and a device for controllably moving the spool in axial and rotary directions. The spool includes a head, a base, and a necked portion extending between the head and the base. The spool is disposed in the brew chamber with the head controllably movable in the inlet and the base controllably movable in the outlet for controllably opening and plugging the inlet and outlet. A port associated with a flush water dispenser is formed through an exterior surface of the spool between the head and the necked portion. The invention also provides an apparatus and a method for producing large quantities of a desired brewed beverage. Multiple substance dispensers are provided to selectively combine a variety of substances to produce a desired brewed beverage. Heated water is conserved by the present invention by providing a control valve on the inlet line at the lower portion of the heated water reservoir.

摘要： An automatic beverage brewing apparatus including a brew chamber assembly with a throat in a top portion, a drain in a bottom portion, and a filter positioned therebetween. A movable piston controllably opens and closes the throat and drain during brewing and flushing cycles. A discharge line from the brew chamber has a controllable discharge valve to direct flow from the brew chamber through a dispensing line, a waste line, or to prevent flow though either line. Water may be controllably accumulated in the brew chamber by controlling the discharge valve to prevent flow through either line. At the initiation of the brewing cycle the valve is operated to block the dispensing line and the waste line, whereupon a brewing substance and brewing water are introduced into the brew chamber. The brewing substance floats on and steeps in the brewing water which is accumulated in the brew chamber. A pressurized water line dispenses water into the throat to rinses the throat. After the brewing cycle is complete a flushing cycle begins to thoroughly flush the spent brewing substance from the brew chamber. The discharge valve blocks the discharge line to retain water in the brew chamber to float the spent brewing substance off of the filter. Upon floating the brewing substance the drain is opened to remove the float water and substance.

The spool is disposed in the brew chamber with the head controllably movable in the inlet and the base controllably movable in the outlet for controllably opening and plugging the inlet and outlet. A port is formed through an exterior surface of the spool between the head and the necked portion. The port is associated with the flush water dispenser for dispensing flush water therethrough. The invention also provides an apparatus and a method for producing large quantities of a desired brewed beverage. Multiple substance dispensers are provided to selectively combine a variety of substances to produce a desired brewed beverage. Heated water is conserved by the present invention by providing a control valve on the inlet line at the lower portion of the heated water reservoir.

The head and base have external dimensions which are less than or substantially equal to an internal dimension of an opening in the filter. The external dimension of the head is less than or substantially equal to the external dimension of the base. The dimensions of the head, base and necked portion allow the filter assembly to be installed and removed over the head and base. The spool is disposed in the brew chamber for controllably opening and plugging the inlet and outlet. A port, associated with the flush water dispenser, is formed through an exterior surface of the spool between the head and the necked portion for dispensing flush water.

摘要： A decanter or carafe for serving hot coffee having a metal bottom to which a plastic upper portion is joined. The decanter is unbreakable and shatterproof for all practical purposes. The lip of the pouring spout is shaped to facilitate pouring to either side as well as frontwards. A pistol grip handle skeleton is integrally joined to the plastic upper portion and receives mating grip pieces from opposite sides. The mating grip pieces may be colored brown to designate "regular" coffee and orange to designate "de-caffinated" coffee. The composite handle incorporates vents to drain liquid that might otherwise become trapped therein.

摘要： A coffee grinder for discharging ground coffee into a brewing funnel which will be removed and inserted into a coffee making machine. The coffee grinder has a ground coffee discharge opening in the underside of an overhanging portion of the grinder. A U-shaped spring is mounted on a platform spaced below the overhanging portion. The lower leg of the spring is mounted on the platform and the bight of the spring faces in the direction in which brewing funnels are inserted on the grinder. The upper depressible leg of the spring upwardly presses and holds an inserted brewing funnel against the underside of the overhanging portion in position to receive ground coffee. Preferably, the upper leg has a funnel-guiding slot therein.
