摘要: In the present disclosure, embodiments of flaring tip microcatheters, methods of deploying flaring tip microcatheters, and embolization treatment methods are disclosed. The flaring tip microcatheter may include a hollow shaft having a shaft lumen defined therein, a core disposed within the shaft lumen, and a tip comprising at least two petals affixed to a distal end of the core, the at least two petals comprising at least two wires wherein the core is hollow and defines a core lumen. The at least two wires may be configured to pull the at least two petals to form a flared configuration of the tip. The flared configuration of the tip may allow for laminar flow of a therapeutic agent distally from the tip.

An intravascular catheter includes an elongate catheter body having a distal end portion and a distal end at a distal terminus of the distal end portion. A solenoid-type reciprocating device is located at the distal end portion of the elongate catheter body. The solenoid-type reciprocating device has a coil and a distal tip member. The coil is electrically coupled to the electrical circuit. The distal tip member has a proximal armature section and a distal working end section. The coil defines a coil aperture that is configured to slidably receive the proximal armature section. The proximal armature section is configured to axially reciprocate relative to the coil when the coil is energized.

摘要: Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a port system including a collapsible reservoir and associated methods thereof. The port can include a body defining a reservoir and formed of a compliant material. The port body can transition between an expanded configuration and a collapsed configuration. The port can further include a port stem or a base plate, formed of a rigid or needle impenetrable material. The base plate can be aligned with a floor of the reservoir to prevent an access needle from traversing the bottom surface of the reservoir. The port, or the reservoir, can transition to the collapsed configuration to provide a reduced overall size or outer profile for insertion and/or between access events. The port can require a smaller incision site, required fewer stitches or no stitches at all, improving patient recovery times, patient comfort, reducing scarring and improving aesthetics.

摘要: A biopsy driver includes a housing, a battery supply, a motor, a trigger, and a control circuit. The control circuit has a trigger switch circuit, a resistance network circuit, and a pulse width modulation circuit. The trigger switch circuit has an OFF state and an ON state. The resistance network circuit is coupled to an input of the pulse width modulation circuit. The pulse width modulation circuit is configured to generate a variable pulse width signal to control a rotational speed of the motor. When the trigger switch circuit is in the ON state, the trigger switch circuit is configured to: connect a negative terminal of the battery supply to the chassis ground, and select a resistance value from the resistance network circuit to select a desired duty cycle of the variable pulse width signal generated by the pulse width modulation circuit.

摘要: A wearable device for monitoring a tissue swelling condition of a user is disclosed that includes a device attachment mechanism for securing the device to the user, and a sensing mechanism coupled to the attachment mechanism. The sensing mechanism can be configured to provide an electrical signal in accordance with the tissue swelling condition of the user to a console, where the console can be configured to: (i) receive the electrical signal from the sensing mechanism, and (ii) provide swelling information to the user in accordance with the electrical signal. Various tissue swelling sensing mechanisms are disclosed, as well as a system including the wearable device and storage, where the storage includes executable instructions that when executed by one or more processors causes the one or more processors to perform operations, including receiving tissue swelling data from the wearable device, and rendering tissue swelling information on a display.

摘要: Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a coupling device including an invertible sleeve transitionable between a first, unlocked configuration and a second, locked configuration. A stem of the coupling device can be urged into a lumen of the catheter. A stem of a port can be urged into a lumen of the coupling device. The sleeve can be inverted from the unlocked configuration, where the sleeve extends distally, to a locked configuration where the sleeve extends proximally. The sleeve can fit tightly about a sleeve bearing portion of the port in the locked configuration to secure the port thereto. The sleeve can be formed of an elastic material to allow the sleeve to transition between the first stable configuration and the second stable configuration. Advantageously, the coupling device forms a continuous outer profile to mitigate tissue ingrowth.

The lateral opening is proximally spaced from the distal end. An elongate member is disposed in the lumen of the sheath and is configured for longitudinal movement relative to the sheath. The elongate member has a proximal position and a distal position relative to the sheath. When the elongate member is in the proximal position, the distal axial opening of the sheath is closed by a distal blocker element of the elongate member and the lateral opening of the sheath is open, and when the elongate member is in the distal position, the lateral opening of the sheath is closed by the proximal blocker element and the distal axial opening of the sheath is open.

摘要: A vascular device insertion system includes a support catheter having a hub, a flexible elongate member that extends distally from the hub, and a catheter lumen that extends through the hub and the flexible elongate member. An insertion module housing is configured to contain a motor having a hollow motor shaft. The hollow motor shaft has a proximal end, a distal end, a distal end portion, and an elongate opening that extends from the proximal end to the distal end. The distal end portion of the hollow motor shaft is configured to couple to the hub of the support catheter. The elongate opening of the hollow motor shaft and the catheter lumen of the support catheter together define a continuous passage. A motor controller is electrically coupled to the motor, and is configured to rotationally oscillate the hollow motor shaft to in turn rotationally oscillate the support catheter.
