A xylanase gene, denoted xynR8, encoding a xylanase (XynR8) obtained from the unisolated rumen microorganisms is provided. The DNA sequence of the xynR8 gene, xylanase, is also provided, the enzyme is thermostable, and highly specific for xylans with high activity. Transformation of microbial hosts with the xynR8 gene is described. A method for degrading the xylan-containing structure comprises hydrolyzing the β-1,4-glycosidic bonds of xylans by contacting xylanase is provided, and a composition employing the above-mentioned hydrolyzing method is further addressed.

The invention relates to a new method for sequence-specific identification, separation and quantitative measurement of nucleic acid fragments. The invention is based on the use of restriction endonucleases that have degenerate bases in their recognition or cleavage sequence. The method has broad applications, including DNA fingerprinting, differential display of mRNA, mutation and polymorphism identification, diagnosis and drug screening.

Therefore, the camera on the coupling element may have an increased shooting area.

One embodiment of the present invention provides an apparatus that supports multiple outstanding load and/or store requests from an execution engine to multiple sources of data in a computer system. This apparatus includes a load store unit coupled to the execution engine, a first data source and a second data source. This load store unit includes a load address buffer, which contains addresses for multiple outstanding load requests. The load store unit also includes a controller that coordinates data flow between the load address buffer, a register file, the first data source and the second data source so that multiple load requests can simultaneously be outstanding for both the first data source and the second data source. These load requests return in-order for each of the multiple sources of data in the computer system, except for load requests directed to a data cache which can return out-of-order. Load requests may return out-of-order with respect to load requests from other data sources. According to one aspect of the present invention, the load store unit additionally includes a store address buffer, that contains addresses for multiple outstanding store requests, and a store data buffer that contains data for the multiple outstanding store requests. The controller is further configured to coordinate data flow between the first data source, the second data source, the store address buffer and the store data buffer, so that multiple store requests can simultaneously be outstanding for both the first data source and the second data source.

A broad-spectrum, high spatial and time resolution contact-field optical microscope comprises a fiber optical taper, a vacuum chamber, a photocathode, a magnetic lens photoelectron image enlarger, a micro-channel plate image intensifier, a phosphor screen and a CCD. Sample is placed directly in contact with a smaller sampling face of the optical taper. Light which is emitted, reflected or transmitted by the sample is launched into each of the fiber core ends on the sampling face and conveyed by the optical fibers to a larger imaging face of the optical taper, thereby presenting an enlarged image at the imaging face. The image is converted into a photoelectron image by photocathode which is deposited on the surface of the imaging face. The photoelectron image is further enlarged by magnetic lenses and intensified by micro-channel plate. The enlarged and enhanced electron image is displayed on phosphor screen and coupled through faceplate to CCD.
