Abstract:
A printing press includes at least one printing unit having a cylinder and a cover covering the cylinder. Actuators are associated with the cylinder for changing a geometry of the cover in axial and/or circumferential direction of the cylinder. Positioning electronics are connected to the actuators and a printing press machine control system is connected to the positioning electronics. An image inspection device is connected to the printing press machine control system at least for geometric measurement of printed printing materials. A printing press computer processes measured results from the image inspection device for carrying out a desired/actual value comparison and for driving the actuators to minimize determined deviations, in the event that deviations are determined.
Abstract:
Pull lays on a feed table of a sheet-fed rotary printing machine are adjusted by a pulling device for laterally aligning sheets thereon. A spindle, which extends transversely to the travel direction, displaces the pull lays for adjusting to a sheet format to be processed. The spindle engages indirectly at a housing of the side lays which is provided with bearing and guide elements. The pull lays are thereby subject to an energy storing device which supports them in a guide transversely to the feed table.
Abstract:
A pile board receiver of a pile lifting device comprising pivotal entrainer hooks having respective pivot points from which the entrainer hooks extend downwardly, the entrainer hooks being vertically guidable and being pivotable in a direction towards a location at which a pile board is receivable in the receiver, each of the entrainer hooks having a hook opening disposed below the respective pivot point and directed towards the location, the respective pivot point being located beyond the location; each of the hooks being formed with a respective prong extending into a region of the receiver wherein a pile board receivable in the receiver is liftable therein; and the method thereof.
Abstract:
Device for correctly-registered feeding of sheets supplied thereto in a sheet stream in a sheet transport direction, to front lays of a sheet-processing machine having a lateral pulling device, and a sheet-advancing device disposed within a smallest format width to be processed. The feeding devices includes at least one permanently driven drive roller disposed in the vicinity of the front lays, and at least one contact pressure device cooperatively engageable with the at least one drive roller. The drive roller has a rotational axis directed crosswise to the sheet transport direction, and at least part of the drive roller is disposed laterally of the sheet advancing device.
Abstract:
Device for conveying a continuous shingled or overlapping sheet or copy stream to a rotary printing press, with a conveying table, at least one endless, revolvingly drivable conveyor belt surrounding the conveying table, and at least one suction box disposed beneath the conveying table and being connected through suction openings with the underside of the conveyor belt, the conveyor belt being formed with through-perforated suction holes, the suction box being formed with at least two suction chambers subjectible to negative pressure or vacuum independently of one another, includes a base member forming a suction box, profiled guide sections accommodated in the base member, suction ducts formed between edges of the profiled guide sections and boundaries of the base member, the edges forming a seal, and the suction ducts extending in different planes in the base member.
Abstract:
A pregripper configuration in a sheet-fed rotary printing press feeds single sheets to a rotating cylinder. A cam drive includes a main cam and a roller lever which pivots about a frame-fixed shaft. A lever mechanism, which is articulated to the roller lever and a pregripper pivot arm, transmits the motion of the cam-following roller lever to the pivot arm. The pivot arm is also pivoted about a frame-fixed shaft. In order to compensate for play in the lever mechanism, a pretensioned spring is disposed between an attachment point on the roller lever and an attachment point on the pivot arm. In one embodiment, the pretensioned spring extends approximately parallel to a rigid link connected in articulated fashion between the roller lever and the pivot arm. In another embodiment, the spring is attached to a compensating cam drive.
Abstract:
A belt conveyor of a printing-material sheet processing machine includes a belt for transporting the printing-material sheets, the belt having openings, and a roller, which has pins for engaging in the openings. At least one ring is rotatably mounted on the roller, relative to the pins, the belt lying on the ring. This belt conveyor is suited for conveying a printing-material sheet, wherein the belt is driven by the roller virtually exclusively via a form lock between the pins and the openings and virtually without a friction lock between the inner surface of the belt and the peripheral surface of the roller. The belt conveyor may be, for example, a sheet brake of a delivery of a printing press.
Abstract:
A method for preventing limit values from being exceeded in sheet-fed printing machines includes acquiring values relevant to the printing process with respect to individual sheets, and processing those values so that predetermined limit values are maintained, detecting the development trend of a relevant value in the course of a series of sheets, and initiating measures when a change in the values occurs that would lead to a limit value being exceeded in an additional predetermined number of sheets if a continuation of the trend occurs; and a device for performing the method.
Abstract:
Device for adapting negative pressure in a suction belt feed or supply table of a sheet feeder to operating conditions which vary during sheet conveyance, having at least one endless, revolvingly driven conveyor belt provided with suction openings, and a side alignment device for laterally aligning a respectively foremost sheet of a shingled or overlapping sheet stream, and at least one suction box disposed below a conveying plane, the suction box, in a sheet feeding direction, being subdivided into a plurality of chambers subjectible to negative pressure independently of one another, includes a conveyor belt, a plurality of suction chambers disposed in the conveying plane below the conveyor belt, a common suction union and a swivelable shutoff element for selectively connecting the suction chambers to the suction union.
