摘要: An exemplary embodiment of the present invention comprises a radio frequency absorber that is operative for absorbing electromagnetic energy, scattering electromagnetic signals, and/or attenuating electromagnetic signals. In accordance with certain aspects of the invention, the radio frequency absorber is substantially flat and comprises an absorbing surface. The absorbing surface is operative to absorb electromagnetic energy, scatter electromagnetic signals, and/or attenuate electromagnetic signals. In exemplary embodiments of the invention, the radio frequency absorber comprises a plurality of holes disposed within the radio frequency absorber. The radio frequency absorber, according to various embodiments of the present invention, is configured to reduce cavity oscillations and/or cavity modes and resonances within an integrated circuit device, such as a device that houses a monolithic microwave integrated circuit.

摘要: An apparatus comprises a radio frequency filter and a dielectric material configured to alter the frequency response of the RF filter, wherein said dielectric material is located in proximity to said RF filter. The apparatus may be useful in a satellite antenna system wherein the RF filter is configured to have an initial frequency response. The dielectric material may be configured to shift the frequency response of the RF filter from the initial frequency response to a shifted frequency response. The dielectric material may be a polyimide tape. A method is also provided for reworking a non-compliant PWB, wherein the PWB is non-compliant with a standard frequency response to a given RF input signal, and wherein the PWB comprises an RF filter. The method comprises the step of adjusting the frequency response of the RF filter by adding a piece of polyimide tape in proximity to the RF filter.

摘要: A stabilized gimbal platform is provided by use of rate gyro stabilized a of a gimbal ring. A bail gimbal is used with both pitch and yaw inner gimbals to provide low friction stabilization over a large angular pointing range. This bail ring combination surrounds a lens assembly sensor, an automatic light level control device suitable to search for and track targets in a given frequency or wavelength range. By aiming, the gimbal arrangement permits the entire lens sensor arrangement to actually point and steer towards the desired target direction. The bail is balanced with drive assembly to provide stability to the bail. The bail itself is not mounted on its axis of rotation but rather is off-axis mounted on bearings for support and driven by an off-axis torque motor drive. The bail assembly can be driven by a metal band to provide smooth rotation of the bail assembly.

摘要: An improved, controlled automatic light control device is provided by the e of a hydraulic automatic light control. Hydraulic control avoids inherent problems of mechanical automatic light control devices. A liquid used for light absorption permits the entire iris area to darken without loss of aperture. The uniform extinction without diffraction limitations of mechanically driven automatic light control devices is significantly improved. The use of thermoelectric coolers and heat sinks provides reliability in a large dynamic range environment without warping or other distortion of the system. The device is applicable for visible light to near infrared light.
