    Abstract: A SMS message is conditionally additionally directed toward an STB, located at the customer premises, to which the target phone number of the SMS message corresponds, and is displayed on a device, e.g., a TV, coupled to the STB, in addition to being directed to the phone corresponding to the target phone number. A new STB SMS server: i) determines whether an incoming SIP message including a SMS message is to be sent toward a STB for SMS display on a display device coupled to the STB, or is to be dropped, e.g., based on a SMS_DISPLAY_STB flag value in a subscriber profile corresponding to the target phone number, ii) determines, for a SIP message including a SMS message, a particular video endpoint, and iii) sends a SIP message including a SMS message to a determined video endpoint for SMS message delivery to a STB interfacing with the video endpoint.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for determining losses due to obstructions in a wireless communications system are described. Pairs of measurements points, one of each side of an obstruction are selected, and wireless device reported received signal energy measurements corresponding to the pair of selected locations are used to determine a path loss through the obstruction. In some embodiments, the pair of measurements points are selected based on one or more of: wireless device orientation at the time of measurement, application in use at the time of measurement, time between measurements, or location between measurements. In one example, a first selected location in the pair corresponds to an outdoor location with a unobstructed line of sight view to the base station, while the second selected location corresponds to an indoor location.

    Abstract: Various embodiments include systems and methods for using artificial intelligence (AI) to make decisions or predictions without direct human intervention. A computing device may be configured to receive an input query that includes query parameters and auxiliary data, apply the received input query to an AI model to generate an initial prediction, and perform explainable AI (XAI) analysis using approximate methods to identify influential features. The computing device may determine key features based on the identified influential features, apply the determined key features to a modified counterfactual model to generate an initial set of counterfactuals, prioritize the generated initial set of counterfactuals, and determine whether the prioritized set of counterfactuals has reached convergence. The computing device may output an enhanced set of counterfactuals in response to determining that the prioritized set of counterfactuals has reached convergence.

    Abstract: A wireless access point receives a first report from a first wireless communication device. Via a report from the first wireless communication device, the wireless access point detects a condition in which a second communication device resides within a region of wireless coverage provided by the first wireless communication device. In response to detecting that the second wireless communication device resides outside a region of wireless coverage provided by the wireless access point and resides within the region of wireless coverage provided by the first wireless communication device, the wireless access point notifies the first wireless communication device to operate in a tethering mode.     Abstract: A wireless system as discussed herein includes a communication management resource configured to control flows of data through a first wireless access point to a remote network. To control the flows of data, the communication management resource receives a schedule indicating a pattern of multiple mobile communication devices associated with a subscriber domain. The schedule may indicate a respective pattern associated with the multiple mobile communication devices. For example, the respective pattern may indicate times when the multiple mobile communication devices are present in the subscriber domain and/or times when the communication devices communicate through the first wireless access point to one or more destination in a remote network. The communication management resource utilizes the schedule to control priority of conveying communications from the multiple mobile communication devices through the first wireless access point to the remote network.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and apparatus for implementing dual backhaul connection paths for wireless base stations to avoid and/or minimize service interruptions.
