Abstract: Methods and apparatus for managing frequency reassignment within wireless access nodes so as to minimize data session disruption. In one embodiment, the frequency reassignments occur within a quasi-licensed system utilizing 3.5 GHz CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) spectrum, and a reassignment of wireless spectrum that mitigates disruption or loss of continuity to existing data sessions of users of devices associated with a CBSD/xNB is provided via notification of the associated devices (e.g., Category B Consumer Premises Equipment or CPE, such as an FWA) of the reassignment by the CBSD/xNB. In one variant, the associated devices are instructed by the CBSD/xNB to invoke a “wait and re-establish” protocol that obviates a full frequency band rescan in favor of a designated target frequency provided to the CBSD/xNB by the cognizant SAS or DP.

Abstract: Methods and systems for prevention of theft of services using geolocation information are described herein. A method for determining theft of services using geolocation information includes obtaining, by a service provider system from an access device at a premises, access device geolocation information, obtaining, by the service provider system from a location server, premises geolocation information based on an address of the premises, granting, by the service provider system, service provider services to the access device in response to the access device geolocation information meeting or being within the premises geolocation information; and denying, by the service provider system, the service provider services to the access device in response to the access device geolocation information being outside the premises geolocation information.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for controlling device use of available networks, e.g., cellular and WiFi, are described. End devices report key performance indicator and resource utilization information, e.g., on a per application basis, to a configuration server. The configuration server determines, based on the received information, e.g., using machine learning and/or artificial intelligence, sets of configuration profiles, each configuration profile including one or more set of applications for which an end device should use a particular network. An exemplary configuration profile may identify a first set of applications for which a first network is to be used, e.g., a cellular network such as a P-LTE network, and a second set of applications for which a second network, e.g. a WiFi network, is to be used. The configuration server selects a configuration profile that is best suited for a particular end device and communicates that selected profile to the end device.

Abstract: A wireless system as discussed herein includes a mobile communication device. The mobile communication device transmits first wireless communications over a first wireless communication link to a first wireless access point. The mobile communication device receives a notification such as from the first wireless access point. The notification indicates power information associated with the first wireless access point receiving wireless communications from the mobile communication device. The wireless communications over the first wireless communication link are encoded in accordance with a first wireless communication protocol. A connection management resource associated with the mobile communication device controls handoff of the mobile communication device from the first wireless access point to a second wireless access point based on the notification. The second wireless access point supports communication with the mobile communication device via a second wireless communication protocol.
