The electrowetting display device includes a first substrate and a second substrate with a polar fluid layer and a non-polar fluid layer insolvable to each other and interposed between the first and second substrates. A first transparent electrode is disposed on the first substrate. A second electrode is disposed on the second substrate. A dielectric layer is disposed on the second electrode. A hydrophilic partition wall structure is directly disposed on the dielectric layer defining a plurality of pixel regions. A layer of low surface energy material is disposed on the dielectric layer within each of the pixel region.

    摘要: A light-source fixing structure for the backlight module is disclosed. The light-source fixing structure includes: a light guide plate provided with a light-incident surface; a cover having a groove, wherein the groove has a surface facing toward to the light-incident surface of the light guide plate; a light bar arranged upon the surface of the groove. The light bar may be replaced easily by sliding out from the groove when the light bar is damaged. The cover not only may enhance the strength of the backlight module but also may prevent the backlight module over temperature.

    摘要: Transflective liquid crystal display devices and fabrication methods thereof. A single cell gap transflective liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate with a reflective region and a transmissive region. A second substrate opposes the first substrate. A liquid crystal layer is disposed between the first and second substrates. A reflective structure is disposed on the first substrate, thereby forming a recess at the transmissive region. A first alignment layer is conformably formed on the first substrate covering the reflective structure, thereby forming a second recess at the reflective region. The second recess is filled with a second alignment, wherein the first and second alignment layers provide different orientations and pre-tilt angles for the liquid crystal layer.

    摘要: Electrowetting display devices are presented. The electrowetting display includes a first substrate and an opposing second substrate with a transparent polar fluid layer and an opaque non-polar fluid layer insoluble with each other and interposed between the first and second substrates. A first transparent electrode is disposed on the first substrate. A second transparent electrode is disposed on the second substrate. A dielectric layer is disposed on the second transparent electrode. A reflective plate structure is interposed between the second transparent electrode and the second substrate, thereby defining a reflective region and a transmission region. A backlight plate is disposed on the back of the second substrate. During operation, the opaque non-polar fluid converges, therefore, exposing equal areas of reflective region and transmission region.

    摘要: The invention relates to optically compensated bend (OCB) mode liquid crystal display devices and fabrication methods thereof. The OCB mode liquid crystal display includes a first substrate, a second substrate and a liquid crystal layer interposed therebetween. A first pixel electrode is disposed on the first substrate. A second pixel electrode is disposed overlying the first pixel electrode with a dielectric layer interposed therebetween such that a discontinuous fringe field is formed at the edge of the second pixel electrode. A first alignment layer is disposed on the first substrate covering the first and second pixel electrode. A common electrode is disposed on the second substrate, and a second alignment layer is disposed on the second substrate covering the common electrode.

    摘要: A prism of backlight module and structure thereof is provided. The prism includes a central area on which geometrical units are formed and arranged adjacent to each other on the prism and a periphery area, being a planar structure, located at two sides outside the central area and terminated at edges of the prism. The prism applied to a backlight module is provided by an integrity process or mold punching process or by providing a shielding surface formed by an ink print method on a lower surface of a base of the periphery area of the prism. As such, the problem of light condensing at edges of the prism in a general notebook computer due to absence of an upper diffuser may be reduced and light leakage may also be reduced.
