摘要: A generator is disclosed to generate a drive signal to a surgical device. The generator includes an ultrasonic generator module to generate a first drive signal to drive an ultrasonic device, an electrosurgery/radio frequency (RF) generator module to generate a second drive signal to drive an electrosurgical device, and a foot switch coupled to each of the ultrasonic generator module and the electrosurgery/RF generator module. The foot switch is configured to operate in a first mode when the ultrasonic device is coupled to the ultrasonic generator module and the foot switch is configured to operate in a second mode when the electrosurgical device is coupled to the electrosurgery/RF generator module. The generator further includes a user interface to provide feedback in accordance with the operation of any one of the ultrasonic device and the electrosurgical device in accordance with a predetermined algorithm.

摘要: In accordance with the present invention there is provided a device for use with a needle with a suture attached to it. The device is used for suturing bodily tissue and comprises a handle, a right arm and a left arm extending distally from the handle. The distal end of the right arm has a right gripper attached to it for gripping and releasing the needle. The distal end of the left arm has a left gripper attached to it for gripping and releasing the needle. The device further comprises an electrically powered means for operating the left gripper and the right gripper. The left gripper and the right gripper exchange gripping of the needle. One of the left gripper and the right gripper moves near to the other to exchange gripping of the needle and moves apart from the other when not gripping the needle. The device further comprises a control unit for controlling the electrically powered means. In one embodiment, the electrically powered means comprises a drive assembly contained in the handle, and the drive assembly has an electrically powered motor.

摘要: A surgical suturing apparatus includes a flexible member having a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end has a handle attached thereto and the distal end has a suturing body attached thereto. The handle is operatively connected to the suturing body. The suturing body includes a suture housing in which a needle and drive assembly are housed for movement of the needle with a suture secured thereto about an arcuate path facilitating application of a suture to tissue. A mechanism is provided for accommodating and operating different sized needles and different sized sutures while maintaining the operative connection between the handle and the suturing body.
